sir my 10&12 is not good and my quant&english is absolutely bad so how can i crack the mba entrance
Dhiraj, while your mars in X and XII cannot be changed if you are willing to put in effort you can improve and Quant & English and hence get a good CAT score which will allow you to get admitted t a good MBA institute. Except for the top IIMs most of the other top B schools have a low/no weight for X and XII marks. Please connect with the closest CL center and they will guide you on the preparation preocess.
Sir,
I have completed my b.com with 78% from andhra university.I want to do MBA or ma in HR from TIss. I want to write TISSNET. Plz suggest me on how to clear Tissnet and how should I prepare for getting into Tiss..
Veena, you should do a regular practice of all the sections. Pay more attention on quantitative aptitude and verbal ability. Keep revising and practicing your study material. The difficulty level of TISS is not so high. Make a daily habit of reading newspaper. These tips can help you to clear TISSNET.
Is sir iim lucknow abm is better than ximb BM……. Please help…… I am continuing post graduate biotechnology student with no work experience.
Faran, you can refer to our article Jayein toh Jayein kahan
Sir,
Please provide a review for TISS hyderabad. Should one join the course.
Zahara, it is a decent course from TISS Hyderabad. However, if you are inclined towards HR you should be targeting better institutes for HR like TISS Mumbai, XLRI, IIM K.
Sir,
Please provide me with a review of TISS hyderabad. Ive converted the call but I’m not sure if I should join or not.
Thanks
Srilekha, TISS Hyderabad is a brand and well established institute. However, HR from there will not add much to your profile. You should target better B schools.
Admission into the management programs of IITB , IITK, IITR and IIT kgp is only open to B.Tech graduates???
Shashank, yes the admissions are only open for B.Tech graduates.
Hi Sir,
I’m shortlisted for TISS Hyderabad (M.A HRM). I have been working for 1.7 years. There is no information available about the placements of Hyderabad campus as this is their first batch. Although all the students have been placed for the summer placements they are unwilling to release package details for the next 3 years or so. Should I take up the course?
Ankita, given your profile you should aim for better institutes.
Sir im sana.
I have 71% in 10th
82% in 12th
I got 72 percentile in cat
Where should i apply
Sana, there are no good colleges at your percentile. You should try to better your score. Retake CAT and aim for top B schools.
And can u name a few b schools giving more weightage to academics rather than work experience?
Shashank, B schools like IIM A, IIM B, IIM I, SP Jain give a good weightage to academics.
I’m currently doing B.A. in ENGLISH
have a sound academic record.
95% 10th
93% 12th
all I wanted to know about ws my stream being a potential disadvantage?? will it b so? I’m gonna appear for CAT 17 and will b a fresher only.. no work experience.. this was a question rather out of curiosity coze I get to see engineers everywhere around in all those top notch B Schools. regards..
Shashank, your course is not a disadvantage in any case. MBA can be pursued by anyone. The chances of cracking top institutes depends on your performance in CAT and GDPI.
Great marks in board Shashank. It wont be a hindrance. Go ahead with your CAT prep. If you have a decent GPA in Grad as well sure shot call and convert with around 97 in CAT
Sir,
Which is better between Woxsen Business School, Hyderabad and Bennett University, Greater Noida (comes with job guarantee from Bennett Coleman/Times Group) from learning experience and placement point of view? Also, is SIMS, Pune preferred over both these?
Vishy, SIMS is preferred over these two. Ideally you should be looking at taking CAT again next year.
sir, i have not very good and strong academic background. should i prepare and appear for CAT ?
are any college present in india who takes admission on the basis of only CAT score and GD and PI
performance.Please guide me.
Deependra, the candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Majorly your selection will be done on CAt score and GDPI. Only some institutes consider overall profile of candidate.
Hello sir,
I have recieved 96%ile in CMAT and 72%ile in CAT. Please suggest if its a good option to opt for KJ & other colleges through CMAT. Will the ROI be good through these colleges. I am currently working with 18months work ex.
Kunal, you must apply to Sydenham KJ Somaiya and GIM. These are good institutes.
Hi sir,
Cleared TISSNET 2016. Request your guidance in preparing for further rounds.
Please help!!
Swathy, for TISS interview be aware about the on going social issues. The interview will be more on social issues and politics. Follow the Limekast updates on CL Exams Guide app. You must start your PDP prep soon.
HELLO .. i am gearing up for TISSNET 2017.. on which areas should i focus on.. and have you converted the call?
I wrote almost all the competitive exams and nothing seems happening. I score less in everything. I feel quite depressing now. Please can you guide me
Uma, you must not lose hope. Pick up a job and take CAT 2016. Keep your options open by taking Banking and SSC exams as well.
sir, my nmat score was 174. I got a call from IBS hyderabad. How good is that college? should I go for it. please guide me.
Katuri, if you are in a job then you must continue with it and should be looking for CAT 2016. Even if you are a fresher you must consider taking up a job and preparing again.

My Xat score is 88.34 and my acads are X – 84.5 XII – 91.3 Btech(ECE) – 76.5….2.4 yrs of IT experience.
I applied for IMT-G,TAPMI,GLIM chennai(PGPM),K J Somaiya. Are there any more good institutes I am missing in my score range.
My friends suggested me GLIM Chennai since it justifies my IT experience and then prefer K J followed by Tapmi.
What is your view sir?
Sai, you can apply for XISS, XIME as well. Also you can refer the post Jayein toh jayein kahaan 2016: Which Institute?.
Hello sir
My academic scores are as follows:
10th – 91.14%
12th – 80%
Btech(2015 passout) – 80.67%
I am working since Aug 2015. I have started my preparations for CAT 2016. I wanted to know the top institutes that I should be aiming with this academic score. And what should be my target percentile for old IIMs and FMS (considering I am eligible for these institutes)? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!
Kainaat, you refer to the post Jayein toh jayein kahaan 2016: Which Institute? Try to target cluster 1. And you should be aiming for 99+ for old IIMs and FMS.
sir,
I am very confused regarding colleges. please tell me what would be your sequential choice between GIM goa, wellingkar, k j somaiya, imt nagpur, sibm hydrabad, ibs hydrabad and NDIM delhi?
Shreya, you can refer to the post Jayein toh jayein kahaan 2016: Which Institute?
HELLO SIR,

Vijit, you can try for XISS Ranchi,XIME Bangalore, IMT Nagpur
sir i got 78.3 percentile in cat n will it be a good idea if i write the micat2 or is it better i apply my to most probable colleges.please suggest me sir even my other scores are not good
You must consider taking CAT again next year. Pick up a job if you don’t have one already and prepare along with it.
SIR does 95.6 percentile in xat ensure call from xlri .Does it mean every one who got above 95.6 be called for interview?
Dhanush, not necessarily. The candidate should also clear the sectional cutoffs.
Hello Sir,
I scored a mere 65 percentile in CAT. My NMAT score is 171 and my CMAT score is 191 (96.02 percentile). Is there any decent college to which I should apply, if any. I also have call letter from IBS Hyderabad for their selection process. Please guide me.
PS: I don’t have any experience.
Asif, based on your CMAt percentile you can apply to GIM, Welingkar and KJ Somaiyya.
Sir,
I have scored 80 percentile in cmat. I am looking forward to top-20 b-schools of India? Are there any chances of that with this percentile. If yes, Then kindly suggest me the colleges where I can apply?
ABhilash, the top 20 B-schools of India are not possible at this percentile.
Hi Sir
My OA CAT percentile is 95.78 with sectionals as VARC–96.89,QA–89.68,DILR–92.Can I expect calls from the new IIMs and the newer IIMs??Also which all IITs should I apply to?How are IMI Delhi and IMT G in your opinion?
Please reply ASAP sir as the application end dates are nearing..
Thanks In Advance..
GG, the newest IIMs are possible at theis percentile. If your academic profile is good then SP Jain will happen. Apart from IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi..calls from all the other IITs are possible.
You must apply to IMI and IMT G as back up. They are decent institutes. WOuld prefer IMI over IMT.
Since there were 3 sections this year, wont the cut offs dip a bit from 96.31 for the new IIMs??Is there any outside chance to get a call from them?…….Also Sir I have applied to XIMB….Will I be able to convert BM with an okayish GD/PI??
Thanks in Advance
GG, slim chance of an IIM Ranchi HRM call. XIMB call will certainly happen at this percentile. The final convert depends on your stage-2 prep.
Should I join the newest IIMs if I get and convert the calls??
Also what is your take on the PGDISEM program of NITIE??Should I go for it ??How are its prospects in the near future??
GG, the new IIMs are not a bad option. The NITIE program is a good program and you must consider going for it if you convert the call.
When will jbims release mms notification for 2016-18 ?
It is highly unlikely they will accept cat scores since their name is no longer in the non-IIM list accepting CAT scores 2015……should i start preparing for mh-cet??…a lot of discussion in quora and pagalguy says that they will stick to CAT scores..(I have a paltry 96.8 and no work ex) …really in the doldrums right now…any help would be appreciated…
Tulin, JBIMS should hopefully release its notification within the next fortnight. Things will be clear post that
Does TISSNET have negative marking?
Astha, TISSNET does not have negative marking.
Hello Sir,
I have scored 198-NMAT (Retake-I score is awaited) and IIFT looks unlikely from the answer keys so far. I have 45 months of exp and with just less than a week for CAT, 1-month to go for XAT and TISSNET. Could you please guide me for some tips where I can improve my performance in coming exams. Also, is it possible if I can have a counselling from you?
I am confused as to why Is it that I am unable to get a consistent performance in all entrances. Some go well and some are unexpectedly poor.
looking forward to guidance from you.
Thanks and Regards
Laxmikanth, call me in the evening at 9811155160 to discuss.
Sir, I have cleared the cutoff for TISS HRM, SC category. My marks are 63. Is there a possibility that I’ll convert the call. Also what should I focus on for PIT/PI? What study material should I look for?
Arth, all candidates who get the interview call have a chance of making it to the final list. Please contact your CL centre for guidance on the interview preparation.
Can you tell me from where did you prepare for General Awareness section of TISS Exam
Suvidha, you must be abreast with the latest happening of the last few months. You must refer to the GK Compendium in the Elib of your SIS. Also the Daily GK update and the tests in your SIS will help you.
SIR I SCORED 55 AND 56 IS THE CUT OFF FOR MA IN MHA..
ANI CHANCE OF ME GETTING CAL?
Abhinav, unfortunately there is no second list for interview shortlisting.
k. thanx sir
Sir, I belong to OBC and have scored 74, has been shortlisted for TISS MA HRM&LR. Could you please suggest me the areas I have to prepare for the next step which is PIT which requires me to write an essay and will you please tell me the estimated overall cut-off out of 225 required to convert the TISS call.
Subhash, The PIT is a GD/Essay and both of them require good knowledge of current affairs. Hence reading newspapres and current affairs magazine should be your focus.
Thank you Sir
Sir, which are the best colleges that accept CMAT score.please suggest because i can’t make it out through googling..
I’d like to point out that the cutoff for HRM/LR for the general category in 2013-15 was 86[I’d 89 myself and was shortlisted, therefore I’m sure about it.], and not what has been provided in the factoid.
Sir did you check the “official” answer key for xat ??? In decision making some of the answers are just completely absurd. I request you to have a look at it. We dropped a mail at admission office in this regard citing the questions with explanations. Can you please tell what else can we do so that they may think of reconsidering ?
Nishant, will check the official answer key. You can only send a mail to XAT office and based on past, (unlike CAT and SNAP) they will act if there is an error.
Sir,
When will the answer key be out?
Gopal, will be released today. There are multiple answer keys.
Sir,
I know that this is not the right place to ask this question but i really needed your help… my cat score were not gud i had secured an overall 63 percentile and also appearing for cmat 2015 …pls suggest me some decent bschool where i can take admissions…i had also appeared for nmat and got 197 …are there any chances …i am a general category student ….sir are institute like AIMS banglore , BITS mesra gud ….does SIMSREE take cmat 2015 score …..sir pls reply and help
