Ever since I took the CAT on Day 1 (Oct 11), I’ve been meaning to jot down some pointers for all of you. Though nothing really has changed from last year, there are a few things that you need to keep mind. Now, just when I was beginning to think I’d never get around to writing it down, someone suggested a video post. So here it is, my first ever video post on this blog.
Quick thoughts on CAT ’12 and my take on how you should be attempting it…
Watch the video here.
Sir,
I took CAT today in the evening slot.
I have calculated my raw score in QADI section to be around 42-46 (18/19 attempts, sure about 15/16). The question set was moderately difficult and I am certain that there was at least 1 wrong question.
My score in VALR is coming to be around 55-60 (25 attempts, at least 20/21 definitely correct).
Could you please tell me whether I will be able to clear the cut-off in QADI section?? And also what percentile i can expect??
Thanks a lot for your guidance and care.
Sir, I wanted to know what happens when a question in CAT is wrong.
According to me, a complete set of DI couldn’t be solved because one value given was wrong.
Shivani, if a question is wrong it is usually eliminated, thus if 1 question is incorrect in section 1 then your score will be calculated on the basis of 29 question and then increased to reflect score out of 30.
If there was an I correct DI set in your paper, please go to catiim.in and inform prometric using the Contact Us link.
sir,
i have cat on 30th oct.
what should be the approach to the RC questions like
“What question would you like to ask to the author of this passage”
– what exactly shall we look for, could you put up some examples of this type.
Good one 🙂
