Petition: Bring TRANSPARENCY to DECLARATION of #CAT2014 results

Dear CAT 2014 aspirants, as well as future CAT aspirants,

Hi! I am Gautam Puri! As a facilitator and mentor of CAT Aspirants for over 20 years, I have always had your future as foremost in my thought and action.

CAT going online was a great blessing, but the way it has been conducted over the last five years and the way the results have been declared, without any transparency in the process, I personally feel CAT/IIMs have done a great disservice to many a student.

With these thoughts in mind, I have written a letter to all concerned authorities (CAT 2014 Centre) and urged them to bring about the CHANGE for good.

Kindly go through the petition that has been filed at CHANGE.ORG (https://www.change.org/p/ prof-rishikesha-t-krishnan- rishikesha-chairman-cat201 4-director-iim-indore-cat- centre-2014-bring-transpar ency-to-declaration-of-cat 2014-results) and for your own good, and for good of scores of CAT 2014 aspirants, I humbly request you to sign the petition and also share it on FB, TWITTER, Email, with your friends who have taken CAT this year. Ask them to sign too. Make sure you personally get 10 of your friends to sign.

We need to bring the change. Only you can make it happen.

  2. Can you give an idea that by when the CL Cat percentile predictor would give percentiles based on the 22nd nov too..?? Currently it is giving percentiles as per 16th nov only

    Great Initiative! I will also sign the petition. Sir, I have a question regarding admissions. I have an experience of 2 years as a software engineer. I gave CAT today and expecting a score between 80-90 percentile. I am planning to apply for NIRMA, BIM, TAPMI.. I will also be giving SNAP and seeking SCIT college.. Is my approach correct ? Please advise.

    • Chandeep, these institutes are fine but in case of SNAP target SIBM Pune/Bangalore, SCMHRD, SIIB. Let SITM, SCIT and SICSR be you back up options.

    • Nilesh, Please check the B School Advisory for the institutes that you should be applying to.
      IRMA is a very good institute but it specialises in Rural Management and you should apply to it only if you are interested in the area.

    Sir, I could deciphered that QA, Decision Making and VA of XAT require some extra practise and they are quite different from CAT..
    so sir which book or material should I refer for DM QA and VA to get XAT type questions to have a better practise of it??

  11. Dear Sir,

    It great to see this petition backed by solid facts. However, with the utmost respect I would like to say that it seems that this is just clever marketing given the timing of CL coming out with this petition and ‘supporting’ students. Previous CAT exams conducted by Prometric, especially CAT 2013 have been a sham. 55 percentile for zero attempts and ST candidates can get admission in IIM-A with 38 percentile. The entire process is laughable, archaic, biased, cryptic and baseless.

    There was no support for the candidates who suffered last year. CL should have thought about the candidates and taken up the matter with the concerned authorities and maybe even boycotted the CAT exam to make them sit up and take notice. You have the power, presence and the ability to make a difference. Think of the deserving candidates who had dropped a year and didn’t make it to any good B-school.

    CL and other coaching institutes did nothing then and there is no point doing anything now since it’s too late. Its a sham and we students end up being the scapegoats.
