How to plan your NMAT Retakes?

The NMAT Exam will be held between 4th October and 17th December with the students getting the options of retaking the NMAT exam thrice during the same period. The retake can be scheduled within a day of the exam but the retake date has to be at least 15 days after the first attempt. In this manner, every student has 3 attempts to crack the NMAT with the highest possible score.

It is generally advisable for the students to give the exam early, before the CAT, in what is called the first window. This is the window which is speculated to benefit the most from the dreaded normalization method. Following the first attempt, the student can apply for the second attempt depending on how they judge their first attempts went.

It is generally advisable for students to schedule their first retake at least 30-45 days post the first attempt. This is done because you will most likely receive the results of the first attempt by this time and will have a fair idea of what needs to be done.

NMAT Cutoffs

The NMAT cutoffs have rarely fluctuated between 208 and 210 in recent years. In NMAT 2016, the cutoff for NMIMS, Mumbai was 208 which rose to 210 in 2017 and fell to 209 in 2018. From these trends, it is safe to assume that you will definitely clear the cutoff if you score anything above 215.
