I come from a background that helped me believe in hard work, dedication and determination. This happened because of my parents. My father came to Delhi from Bihar as migrant labour and now he is running a small business of lubricant oil along with his brother and my mother is a homemaker. My parents are uneducated but they know the value of education that’s why they made sure that each of my family members gets a proper education. Although my parents weren’t able to help me academically, they constantly motivate me and always did their best for me.

In my college days, I did not have any inclination towards management, Just like any final year student I applied for a job and got selected. In my initial days of work, I felt like it was a hectic job and the working culture of that job was very bad that’s why I left that job and became jobless again. In November I applied for another and got selected there. There I started my job journey.
Motivation: One of my best friends scored 99.7+ in CAT 2020 and now he was going for IIM C. I got a spark that “boss if he can do it, I can also do it”.
Struggles: Basically I was doing a job which required 12-13 hours a day and after that, I have to travel in a metro which usually took 2-3 hours. Once I was reached home, I did not have any sort of energy to study. Although I study a bit in the metro which was not enough for me.
Determination: In September, I decided to quit my job because, I knew, with the job it was not possible for me to crack this exam. People use to say 3 months is not enough for you, as you have never given this exam ever. It’s your first attempt you should give it with your job do not take the risk at this moment. Even one of my closest friends told me why are you wasting your time and money on purchasing mock and preparing for CAT. But, I never let my dedication down with those comments, I ignored them all and focused on my CAT.
Approaching the CAT: I started my classes through youtube and joined two-test series. I gave 2 mocks in a week starting and gave a 5 hours for mock analysis. In the last 30 days, I was giving 2-3 mocks within 2 days. In November month when, it was 7 days to go, I scored 46 percentile in my mock which was the lowest ever in my life. I felt devastated but my friend (who gave the CAT) motivated me and finally, on the day I performed decently and scored 97.99 percentile ( 98.5+ percentile in quant and LRDI).
Transformation during PDP and real Interviews: When I joined PDP Personalized, I chose my mentor Gautam Puri Sir. I still remember my first interaction with sir, It was my first mock PI. Once we started our PI, I got to know my weaknesses and strong areas, like I was answering in hurry and not listening to him properly. But after the PI, I got genuine suggestions which helped me throughout my interviews. Apart from this, we usually had 15 minutes of counselling session to discuss.
Also, Mehekka Ma’am’s sessions on current affairs were amazing. It helped to gain an overview of current affairs and basic economics. My overall journey was a wonderful one in which I faced many setbacks but ultimately achieved a triumph that erased all my failures.
Thank you
