SNAP 2013 Cutoffs (updated)

The analysis of SNAP’13 was an interesting exercise.

After the test, the consensus was that SNAP’13 was very similar to SNAP’12 and many felt that due to a slightly difficult English section the scores could fall marginally. The data submitted by all of you however gave a slightly different picture.

SNAP’13 data is unusual – higher average and lower standard deviation as compared to SNAP’12. This means a higher number of easy questions allowing the average to rise but getting the high score was still difficult since the number of difficult questions was the same. Overall, the data suggests that the difficulty level of SNAP’13 is the same as that of SNAP’12 when seen from the perspective of getting a call from the top SNAP institutes.

If the SNAP score was the only criteria for interview calls then the cutoffs for SNAP’13 would have been almost the same as that of SNAP’12. However this year there is a googly in the form of Academic Profile score. This year, as per the SNAP bulletin, the SNAP institutes will shortlist candidates on the basis of the sum of SNAP score (out of 40) and Academic Profile score (out of 10). This total score will be used to calculate the percentiles and hence the cutoffs. Thus, the cutoffs this year will be an interesting mix of SNAP’13 score, AP score and the category.

The table below gives our estimate of the cutoff marks (out of 50) based on your inputs. The percentile cutoffs have been assumed to be the same as that of last year based on the following:

  1. The number of candidates who have taken SNAP’13 is almost the same as that of SNAP’13.
  2. The number of applicants in each institute this year will be similar to the number of applicants last year.
  3. The institutes will maintain the same ratio of number of interview calls to seats.

The SNAP’12 cutoff percentile was not available for some of the reserved categories in a few institutes and has been estimated by us. It is safe to assume that the cutoffs for these categories will be significantly less than that of general category. Some of these programs do receive so few applications that all reserved category students will definitely get interview calls.

  1. Respected Sir I am at waitlist no.36 in merit list 1 (General category)for SIIB pune- ABM… is there any chances to get admission there?

  2. I am a defence wards general candidate … How much I Have to score out of 180 to be selected?
Do every college under snap reserves 80% seats for defence ?

    • Mohit, only SIMS has reservation for wards of defense personnel.
A score of around 55%ile is usually sufficient for SIMS, last year this would have meant a score of around 60 on 180

  3. sir, i want to take admission in MBA
    10th =60% CBSE 2008
    12th =54% MSBTE 2010
    Diploma =67% MSBTE 2012
    Engineering =66% RTMNU 2015
and belongs to Defence personal and NT 1 category
how much i have to score in snap so that i can get admission in sims.
is it possible to get admission there looking on my profile.
    plz guide me,

    • Deepak, typically a SNAP score of around 60%ile is safe for an interview call from SIMS. Symbiosis does not have any weight for past academics and hence you are safe.

  4. sir ,
    im 21 years old
    category sc
i gt 39 percentile in SNAp this year and i did my graduation last year

i hv been waitlisted at sibm b and siib ib , i hv converted simc pune

my question is if i convert sibm b(67) or siib ib(76) shld i tke admission?
if yes whch shld be preffered?

secondly if i tke an internship ryt now and regive CAT SNAP will this hinder my selection next year??

so wat u feel doin MBA this year or MBA next year will be a wise choice ?

i hv missed scmhrd cut off by two percentile this year

    • Pritesh, if you convert SIIB or SIBM Blr then you should join this year itself, while my preference is for SIIB but you could choose either as they are at par
39%ile is a low score and you will need to work really hard to improve it in a retake. The desired CAT score for a SC candidate is at least 80%ile.

      • sir shldnt i think of retake?
bcz i missed scmhrd by 2 percentile

and i m doing really well in gepiwat rounds!

        • Pritesh, you can but as I mentioned earlier 39%ile is low and you should target at least a 70%ile in SNAP. This year the cutoffs have gone down and the same may not happen next year.

  5. Sir, I am from medical background( BDS), have a call from SIHS, 11 months work exp. What is average package of SIHS? Is it better than IIHMR-Jaipur or more or less same? What is the scope and growth in healthcare and hospital management?

    • Disha, the average salary from IIHMR is around Rs 5 lakh pa, while no data is available for SIHS it is likely to be similar. Between the two IIHMR is an older institute but has multiple campus, on the other hand SIHS is a newer institute but with a strong brand name. At this point of time both are equally placed and you could choose the one with a lower fee.
However if you can afford to wait a year then my suggestion is to go for a retake and try for a general MBA program. A sectoral MBA program typically has lower placement opportunities and hence lower salaries.

  6. Sir, i have got call from sibm innovation & entrepreneurship .. but i cudn’t figure it out whether i should go for it or not as i am seriously confused about the placements, college n this stream,, please suggest …..

  7. Sir,
I have been selected for scmhrd ge-pi-wat round.
    I got 63% SC category. I don’t have any workex,also 2 years gap
after graduation.I know my profile is not good.
Is any slight chance for me?

  8. sir my name is bhoopendra n i hve got 37 marks for 2015 and i have applied sitm, scit, scmhrd and sibm..
sir i there any possibilites to get a call for gd/pi from these colleges…thanks sir

  9. Hi sir, i have scored 24.4170 percentile in snap 2014. I want to know the possibility of me getting shortlisted for SIBM MBA, SIBM I2, SITM pune, SIMC pune.

  10. hello sir
are simc and sims institute worth joining.
i have completed my grad. last yr. and could not score well in nmat and cat and iift . and i have to take admission this year.
what are the cutoffs for these insitutes. i have also made a work ex certificate from september. i will take admission this year and then prepare for cat and xat and give them again next year ,and continue with my job also.

  11. SIR i have got a percentile of 67.824 in my snaptest 2014 for 2015 batch! should i expect a call from sibm pune or scmhrd pune or simc pune ?? kindly replyy…CAN I EXPECT SIMC PUNE ATLEAST?

  12. Sir
    This is my profile
    10th 88.6
    12th 86.2
    Graduation 8.57
    CAT 85.42
    Quants 90
    VA+LR 65
Which colleges can I get calls from?

  13. sir pls tell me about the marks required for sc students in snap for sibm pune, banglore and scmhrd to clear the cutoff……..

  14. Sir i am a defence personnel ward…. How much marks i need to score to get SIMS pune call…. Kindly reply…..

  15. Sir , could you please mention the cutoff for SIMS for 2014 . and there is gap in my study years how much does it effect to crack into any good b- school .

    • Arjun, SIMS cutoff is usually less 50%ile but it is available only to candidates who are wars of defence personnel.
You gap year is not a problem and can be handled comfortably in the interview.

  16. Dear Sir,

I have done a MBA in HR 2 years before from Amity University
Currently working with good MNC as a executive.I am having experience of 2 year in same MNC.

Want to speed up my career so applied for CAT this year.

but im confused for which course i should apply. i can give my 1 year for 1 more MBA.

    Pls suggest

    • Dear Shivani,

Try to leverage your first MBA for your career progression. We advice you to work for at-least 3-4 years and then go for one year MBA program of ISB, IIM A, IIM B.

At this stage, it might become difficult for you to justify the need of another MBA.

      Best regards,
      Team CL

  17. Hello,

I was just wondering if you could update me with 2014 and 2013 SIMC Pune and Bangalore cutoffs please? I only plan to focus on these two courses since I have a decent amt of experience in media & PR.

I am planning to give my entrance this december.

    Awaiting a quick response.

    Thanks,
    Resha

    • Resha, A score of 65+ in SNAP is usually good for a call from SIMC Pune, for SIMC Bangalore 60 is sufficient. Ideally you should go for MBA in marketing from top MBA institutes or from MICA because SIMC Pune and Bangalore do not offer very good placement opportunities.

      • Hello again.

I have given my snap ’14 attempted 80. Is it decent ? chances of getting in Pune/Blore Simc?

Yes i do plan to give cet (for mba in marketing ) and MICA of course!

For MICA, they have asked us to submit Mat/Xat/Cmat/Cat scores. Its mandatory, however, i have fared terribly in MAT… would that affect in my further MICA preparation..as in.. does MICA ask for a particular score aft which a candidate is permitted to give the exam?

  18. Dear Sir,
    I have X score of- 87%
    XII score-90.5%,Graduation-72%

I have been working in Cognizant as Senior Systems executive for 15 months. Are the SNAP scores negotiable for a better profile? Getting into which colleges accepting SNAP will enhance my profile that i already have? How much is the score I should target in order to achieve that.

    • Sanjay, profile comes only after you have cleared the hurdle of SNAP score. Your work experience will be helpful in the interview. For SIBM Pune and SCMHRD you should target over 98%ile in SNAP.

  19. dear sir, kindly focus some light on operations management program offered by sibm pune & siom nashik, which should be the best one?

    • Dear Nilesh,

SIBM has a much better reputation than SIOM. Accordingly, MBA-operations from SIBM, Pune is likely to lead to better placements than the placements available at SIOM, Nashik. Apart from that, there is not much to choose between MBA-ops from either of these institutes.

  20. Hi,
I am having 3+ years of experience with currently working in L&T Info tech.I want to pursue my MBA .But having 3+ years of experience in IT, Shall I go with SNAP 2014 or its better to try with GMAT?.If yes, which institutes I need to focus?
    My score Xth:74.40%
    XII th : 69%
    Gratuation : 61.4%
    Please suggest.

    • Ramij004, SIBM Pune and NMIMS Mumbai can be your backup options. With a 3+ year work experience you should restrict yourself to the top 30-35 programs mentioned in the post Jayein toh jayein kahaan 2014: Which Institute?. The Cluster 3 institutes can be your back up. You should in any case take GMAT and target the 1 year programs of ISB and other top institutes.

  21. Sir, this year i am going to attempt for the SNAP. mainly targeting SIMS . and i am from defence category also . So sir is it a better institute for the MBA programmes or should i concentrate on some other colleges?

    • Somesh, SIMS is a good back up institute and your target should be the better known institutes of Symbiosis like SIBM Pune/Bangalore, SCMHRD Pune, SIIB Pune etc. Focus on doing well in SNAP and other MBA entrances and let SIMS be your back up option.

  22. Hello sir,
I have already deposited the fees for sibm bangalore.its been a month back since i deposited the fees.now I have converted siib-international business in the recent list.My composite percentile is 98.5.Intially, i was not selected for sibm pune and scmhrd.I got to know from forums like pagalguy that not more 50 students are waiting for the conversion in scmhrd waiting list.So I have 2 questions :-
1.which one is better sibm bangalore v/s siib (ib)in terms of faculty, placement and infrastructure.
2.Do i stand any chance in scmhrd if the whole waiting list get exhausted.

    • Shivansh, SIIB being an older institute with better placement record is my preference over SIBM Blr.
SIBM Pune/SCMHRD have in the past sent offer letter to students a few days before the start of the program so if the waitlist gets exhausted other students can get a call but do not bank upon this happening.

  23. hello sir,
can you please tell me which college is better out of these two, NICMAR (CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT) or SCMHRD (INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT). I have got a call from SCMHRD IM. Please guide me whether to join it or not

  24. hello sir,
my wait list number for SCMHRD IM is 2 and I am an SC candidate. do you think i ll get a call? and sir please tell me how is the course of Infrastructure management. what is the scope of this branch? i am a civil engineer. please guide me about its placements and packages.
    kindly help

    • Rajeev, you will most probably convert SCMHRD IM and should consider joining the program. Engineers are suited for this program and can expect placements in Project Management, Project finance and Consultancies with an average salary of around Rs 7.5 lakh pa.

  25. Sir
I’ve been stuck at wait list number 17 for SCMHRD (general category) for more than a month now. 3 lists declared during this period have not seen any movement at all. With roughly 3 weeks to go before the commencement of the programme, do you think that I’ll convert considering the trend that I mentioned?

    • Prateek, Symbiosis is known to send a offer letter/email a few days the commencement of the program so I will not rule out till the date of the program commencement.

  26. sir how is SITM pune??? i got it…compare to mit balaji n indira sydnehm imt nagpur etc

    • Rajiv, Sydneham Mumbai followed by SITM Pune should be your preference. Sydneham is significantly better than all others options and hence should be your first preference.

  27. Sir, I am waitlisted at 68 for SCMHRD after latest waitlist (original was 304). What do you reckon are my chances of conversion?
Secondly, for marketing, between IMI and IIT Kanpur which one do you suggest?

    • Raunak, SCMHRD is still possible since there is sufficient time for the program to start and also the withdrawals are still happening.
Between IIT Kanpur and IMI my preference is for IIT Kanpur, while both are at par wrt reputation and placement, the small batch size and low fee of Kanpur ensure a high ROI.

      • IIT Sir, Currently I am at WL 3 for SCMHRD Pune. In case it clears, What do you advise BETWEEN scmhrd Pune and

        • I mean between SCMHRD and IIT Kanpur? I am confused between Marketing and Operation and I have a workex of 22 months in industrial Sales.

  28. sir..I m still waitlisted at WL – 2 SC category for SCMHRD.There has been no movement after 4th list…any chances in the next list…

      • thank you sir..i m interested in HR..Is SIIB good for HR i heard its for IB and sales n marketing…

        • Poronita, while it is an IB program, in 2nd year students are required to select from any one functional area of specialization, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain Management and HR. It provides decent placements for HR.

  29. Sir,
After the 6th Merit List I have been selected for both SIIB and SIBM-B. Since there as been no movement for SCMHRD from 4th Merit List, I am in waitlist no 24 for it in ST category. So is there any chance for me to convert for SCMHRD ? And between SIIB and SIBM-B which one will be better to go for as I am interested in doing MBA in HR ?

  30. Dear Sir,
converted at SSBF. waitlisted at SITM 50. planning to go ahead with SSBF. will it be a good choice? what are future prospects for both? thanks and regds

    ram

    • Ram, SITM should be the preferred one in case you convert the wait list because SSBF will restrict you to Banking & Finance and also it has a lower average salary.

          • sir as per your prediction i converted the call.since i would be going for MBA(ITBM) now ,does that mean i would only remain limited to only it sector in near future or options for other sectors are also open??

          • Praful, while the initial placement is likely to be in telecom/IT/consultancy you can move to other industries/sectors after a few year of work experience.

  31. Hello Sir, I am waitlisted at #41 in SCMHRD after 5th merit list. There had been no movement in this list. Is this number a boundary-line case or I stand a good chance of conversion?

  32. Sir,after 4th merit list of symbiosis.I have converted sibm bangalore.and I have also deposited the fees.I am waitlisted in SIIB at 160.So, i want to know where it will get converted or not.I am from general category. And hows sibm bangalore in comparsion to SIIB Pune??

    • Shivansh, SIIB is an older institute and has marginally better placements but offers a program in IB in which most of the placements are not in IB but in sales & marketing and in financial services. A general MBA will usually provide better placements and SIBM Bangalore is fast catching up with SIIB. IF you want a general MBA and the freedom to choose our area of specialisation then stick to SIBM but if IB is your area of interest the go for SIIB.
Realistically, the gap between the two institutes is not much so if you are from Bangalore go for SIBM and iff from Pune go for SIIB.

      • Thank you so much Sir for replying my query. One more question. My composite score is 98.5 and snap percentile is 99.907.I was shortlisted for all the mba programmes in symbiosis. But in the final merit list i couldn’t make it to sibm pune and scmhrd. So after the results of IIM’s,FMS etc Can i expect a waiting list in scmhrd and or sibm pune?

        • Shivansh, yes with the IIMs, XLRI and NITIE coming out with their results you can expect wait list to move in all institutes. Hopefully you will make it to both.

          • Thanks a lot sir.I was loosing hope for sibm pune and scmhrd. But after reading your comments,i have regained some confidence. My waiting list for SIIB Has moved from 164 to 139 🙂

  33. sir,
my wait list for SCMHRD INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT has moved to 7. Can u tell me how many more wait list are going to come? Do i hav any chance of getting a call?
    please guide

    • Rajeev, waitlist will keep coming till the start of the program and also possibly till a week after. Significant movement will happen only after the IIMs, XLRI, FMS, NITIE and the IITs come out with their results.

      • Sir,After the wl movement on 7th apr ,I have converted SIIB IB and WL -2 for SCMHRD SC category..Should i wait for scmhrd or go for siib and then fee transfer..i m confused..

        • Poronita, you will most probably convert SCMHRD but you should block a seat in SIIB and go for fee transfer when SCMHRD converts.

  34. sir, i have converted SIBM Pune, i h ave 2.6 yrs of work ex in power sector and currently at ctc of 7.5 and my cat went bad this year, which was beyond expectations . i got just 25 percentile in english whereas i scored 99.23 in snap and 94 in english section of XAT. i have graduated from NIT. and now i m in a doubt that should i go for one more shot at CAT or i join SIBM pune.
please advice me that which of the two seems to be a better option.

    • Nikhil, SIBM Pune is a very good institute and it is difficult to leave it but it may not be able to increase your salary significantly. In your current job itself you should be able to reach around Rs 9 – 9.5 lakh pa which is only marginally below the average salary of SIBM Pune. However the opportunities available could increase significantly. If you are confident of scoring at least 95%ile in both sections then you should go for a retake of CAT/XAT and also take GMAT to open the option of ISB Hyderabad.

  35. Hi GP sir….My scmhrd w/l is 116 after 3rd list (29 march)..please can u throw some light that whether this number (this being centralized counseling) is in safe zone…a m getting mixed reviews.. ,….Please giude

    • sahil, you will most probably make it to SCMHRD but only after the IIMs, XLRI, FMS, NITIE and the IITs come out with their results.

    • Ajay, SITM Pune is higher ranked and has a better placement than XIME Bangalore but the fee is higher and placements are by and large restricted to IT and Telecom. XIME on the other hand offers a general management program that allows you to specialise in your area of interest, it also has a lower fee. So decide on the basis of what kind of program you want.

    • Kunal, SICSR is the better option. BIMM is ranked significantly lower and has poorer placement opportunities.

    • Prashant, you will convert but only after the IIMs, FMS, NITIE and IITs come out with their results. For the wait list to move some students have to withdraw and the students will withdraw only if they have a better option. Hence please be patient and hope for the best.

  36. What are the future career prospects after completing MBA from SIIB
And what would the precedence for the following colleges:
    SIBM -Bangalore,SIIB,IMI

    • Deepanshu, while SIIB offers a MBA in international business most of students get a placement similar to that of a regular MBA program. Among these three my y order of preference is IMI, SIIB and SIBM Blr.

  37. Sir,
i am w/l at 25 in SCMHRD SC category? it is after the first list movement any chances in next list?

      • Hello Sir, I am waitlisted at # 56 (after 3rd merit list) for SCMHRD. Category is GEN. Willl I be able to convert the call or is it risky as the seats must be almost filled by now?

        • Vasti, the IIMS, FMS, XLRI, IITs and NITIE between them have around 5000 seats and a 20% overlap with NMIMS, SIBM Pune, SCMHRD and XIMB, will lead to a movement of 1000 across institutes.

  38. sir my W/L is 31 for SITM category is SC…..do i have any chance sir????? will i get convert in next list which probably on 1st week of april……..

  39. Sir/Madam, is there any chance of getting admission at ssbf on waiting list 19 and at siom at waiting list 43 for an sc candidate in second waiting list?
    Please reply…

    • Ankur, you will most probably clear but the list will move only after the declaration of results of IIMs, FMS, IITs and NITIE.

  40. Hello sir,
My second wait list for sibm Pune -25 and for SCMHRD – 13 what are my chances to convert,I belong to ST category..

    • Arunmayee, you will most probably clear but the list will move only after the declaration of results of IIMs, FMS, IITs and NITIE.

  41. Sir,
i am an sc candidate. my waiting list number for scmhrd infrastructure management has moved from 16 to 11. Are there any chances of getting it cleared???
    pls guide

      • thankyou sir. one more thing i want to comfirm. Symbiosis results came out on 28th of feb and on 20th march first wait list came out. How many more wait lists are going to come out?

        • Rajeev, there will be 3-4 waitlists and they will continue till the results of all IIMs, FMS, top IITs, MDI and NITIE are declared.

          • sir,
there are only 40 seats in scmhrd infastructure management. Being an SC candidate, do u think there is any chance of conversion of waitlist number 11???according to previous year statistics
            please guide

          • Rajeev, you will be able to convert once the IIMs, FMS, IITs and NITIE come out with their results.

          • sir,
my wait list for SCMHRD infrastructur management has moved to 7. can u tell me how many more wait list are going to come? do i hav any chance of getting a call?
            please guide

  42. Sir, I’ve converted call for SIMS but also have a job offer from TCS.

Since this year I gave my CAT/SNAP without much preparation you have advised me to drop SIMS and score a better percentile in CAT next time (above 90-95).

I have a query that my academics are not that great.
    10th- 89 %
    12th- 64.2 %
    BE(MU) – 63 %(average till semester 6)

Wont it hamper my chances for IIM’s even if I get high percentile as they give a call to people with good CAT percentile as well Academics?

    Please update me on this.

    • Akash, marks in X, XII and Graduation are important for only the IIMs and Symbiosis. IITs, MDI, SP Jain, NITIE, XLRI, XIMB, IMT etc have a low/no weight for past academics. Even among the IIMs their importance varies for all institutes. With your marks IIM A and B are unlikely unless you get a 100%ile in CAT but all other IIMs are possible. IIM C typically requires over 99.5%ile while other IIMs will be possible at 98%ile.

      • Sir,

        CMAT(feb) –
        RANK:214
        AIR: 978 Percentile: 98.9%

What colleges can I get at the above score? & what colleges should I apply to?

How would you compare SIMS,Pune and Welingkar,Mumbai. Which is better?

        • Akash, the only cecent institute where you can still apply is Welingkar and a call is possible at your score.

          • Sir, SIMS,Pune or Welingkar,Mumbai which is better for Finance? Please help make a choice.

  43. Sir, I am selected for SCMHRD IM course.
I am BE civil 2013 passout.
Should I try again next year or should I join the course.
I will be giving MH CET. Top 4 MMS colleges seem difficult.
what should i do?where does SCMHRD IM course stand against MMS colleges beyond top 4?
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards

      • Sir, I am not working, have job offers but not upto expectations( no good job profile). Just gave Nmat, snap and feb Cmat.
        couldn’t make in Nmat (202)..
        september cmat 171 rank 3511
        Will be giving MH CET

        • Raj, you can join SCMHRD IM program it provides decent career opportunities. JBIMS, Sydenham and Somaiya are better than SCMHRD IM but not the others.

  44. Dear Sir
I am waitlisted for SCIT at no-30.What are my chances of clearing it in second list?Category SC
    regards
    rohit

  45. sir,
i am at the wait list for sibm p at 27 and scmhrd at 17.category sc.anychance of converting?how many merit lists will be presented.please help.

    • Diptendu, you should convert both SIBM Pune and SCMHRD but the wait list will move only after the declaration of the results of IIMs, FMS, IIFT, IITs and NITIE.

  46. sir I have converted SIBM,pune ,SCMHRD and others.I am interested in HR.
Not able to decide to go fr sibm or scmhrd.
    Can you help me out.
What is the average compensation for hr in sibm pune?
they have mentioned ctc for the total batch.

    • Mansi, both SIBM Pune and SCMHRD are equally good for HR and have similar placements but since SIBM Pune is higher ranked it should be preferred.

  47. Hello Sir,
My wl is 24 for scmhrd in sc category and 39 for sibm pune. what is the chance of conversion?

  48. Sir,
I have been selected for and in the waiting list for SCMHRD- 46, SIIB- 49, SIBM-B – 51. Category- ST. Do I stand any chance to convert the call for SCMHRD, SIIB & SIBM-B or should I deposit the 1st installment for SITM ??? My background is not related to Telecom sector at all. What should I do???

    • Sweta, you will most probably convert all three however the wait list will move only after the results of IIMs, FMS, NITIE and the IITs are declared.
Which other calls (interview) do you have?

  49. Dear Mr GP,

I am presently in the Supply Chain field with 2.5 years of experience, with a package of 5.6 LPA. I have a convert from SCMHRD (MBA), and am expecting a convert from SIBM P (W/L #27). What are your views on SIBM P? In your view, is it a safe bet to take up SIBM P this year, rather than giving one more shot at CAT? (Secured 91%ile in this year’s CAT)

    • Karthik, both SIBM Pune and SCMHRD are safe bets and you should go ahead. Obviously SIBM Pune is the preferred option but SCMHRD is equally good. To move to the next level of institutes in CAT you will need to get a score of over 97%ile in CAT and hence my suggestion is to take SIBM Pune or SCMHRD.

  50. Sir,
I have been ranked at wait list 9 in SICSR and 22 in SITM under KM category. What are the chances of getting through in the final selection list?

    • Sherin, KM category has very few seats and hence does not move much. Most probably you will make it to SICSR but SITM looks difficult.

  51. sir, I completed my grad last yr and then started prep for mba quite late in Aug. cat 13 result was shocking although the CL predictor predicted in 90’s. so I solely depended on snap.
Got thru simc Pune but have waitlist of 500 smthing for Siib IB and abt 200 smthing for sibm bglr. I don’t have any work ex. so wat shud I do..wait for the wait list to move ?? since I hv already used my last yr..plz guide!!

    • Deeksha, if you are not working or not planning to take up a job, you can consider SIMC or other colleges. Chances of converting at such WL no. are bleak.

  52. Sir, I have converted the SIMS(defence) call. I have some queries.

I am a fresher and currently in my final year of graduation. I have an offer letter from TCS.

Q1) How good is SIMS? How would you rate it?
Q2) SIMS or Welingkar, which is better in terms of curriculum, placements & overall?

    What should I do ?
Join TCS and aim for better colleges or take SIMS?

      • 1. Xth- 89%, XII- 64.2%, B.E- 63.2 (Aggregate till semester 6).

        2. CAT- 66pc, XAT -74pc, CMAT sept -204 marks.
        CMAT feb expecting 225.

Sir i did not prepare for the exams seriously and didn’t join any class.

        • Akash, given that you have a decent job at hand (TCS) and did not prepare for MBA entrances, my suggestion will be to drop SIMS and go for a retake. However in a retake you should have at least 90%ile (preferably 95%ile) in CAT to be able to make it to the next level of institutes.

          • Sir, I’ve got less marks in 12th and graduation.

Wont it hamper my chances for IIM’s even if I get high percentile as they give a call to people with good CAT percentile as well Academics?

            Please update me on this.

  53. sir ,

im 31st on the wait list of sihs hhm(open).
wat r my chances of converting plz help!!
already wasted a year aftr my mbbs i dun wanna waste one more!!
so im thinkinh of a management seat but the wait list is confusing me!! plz help!!
    thanking you…

    • Pradeep, you have a decent chance of making it to the final list, the wait list will however clear only after the results of other MBA institutes are declared.

  54. sir
im 31st on the wait list of sihs hhm(open).

  55. sir im from st category got wait list 56 from scmhrd.
    wl12 from siom
    wl64 from sibm bangalore
do you think i will be converted or not?
    plz reply asap

    • Shruti, this is the first year of the new system of centralised admissions so difficult to say if you will be able to make it to the final list. However my feeling is that you have a decent possibility of converting to both the institutes but the wait list will move only after the results of other institutes are declared.

  56. Sir,

I have got a wait list number of 55 (General Category) for SIBM Pune, please suggest what are my chances of converting the same and up to what number did wait list moved in last few years.

    Thanks in advance
    Sid

    • Sid, good chance of converting the call but the wait list is likely to move only after results of other institutes are declared.

      • Sir
I have been selected for SCMHRD as well and has been asked to pay the admission fee by 15th March. Now I am in dilemma should I go for SCMHRD or wait for the wait list to clear.
As per the guidelines if I pay first installment now and then cancel my admission later on then there would be hefty deductions of 36K.
Sir please suggest what should I do in this situation.

        Thanks
        Sid

        • Sid, as GP said you have good chances of converting the call. It is unlikely that first WL movement of SIBM will be out by 15th March as only NMIMS results will be out before 15th. Though your chances of conversion are very high you should not risk of letting SCHMRD go by. You could wait till the last moment if SIBM Pune comes out with the WL movement by then.

  57. SIr,
    Below is my result.
Please tell me my chances to convert and where.
Is this a separate waiting list for category?

    PI-WAT Category : SC
You had appeared for the PI-WAT process, 2014, which was the final step in the selection process for admission to the MBA programmes that you were shortlisted for. We wish to inform you that you have been waitlisted for admission to the following programme:

    1)MBA – SIBM Bengaluru ( Waiting List Number -141)
    2)MBA – TELECOM MANAGEMENT – SITM ( Waiting List Number -23)
    3)MBA – COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT – SIMC Pune ( Waiting List Number -40)
    4)MBA – SCMHRD ( Waiting List Number -91)

    • Satish, this is the first year of the new system of centralised admissions so difficult to say if you will be able to make it to the final list. However my feeling is that you have a decent possibility but the wait list will move only after the results of other institutes are declared.

      • Goku, conversion is possible but will need to wait till the results of IIMs, IITs, NITIE and FMS are declared.

  58. Sir I got 60 percentile in snap and got selected for pi wat exam for SITM…My wat was fine but pi was ok..result has decleared today..and i am in waiting list and no.is 525..Can you please tell me the chances of selection?

    • Ronal, this is the first year of the new system of centralised admissions so difficult to say if you will be able to make it to the final list. However my feeling is that there is a decent possibility but the wait list will move only after the results of other institutes are declared.

  59. Sir, I have done Diploma and BE in Civil 2013 pass out. Got call from Scmhrd IM and SIIB IB. what are your views, to be sector specific or a general MBA from SIIB?. Also in the placement report for Scmhrd, don’t think they have added IM placements. How would you compare ? Thank you

    • Sarvesh, this is a difficult call. While SCMHRD is a better known institute and higher ranked also it is a new program with limited opportunities, please click here for the placement details of SCMHRD IM.
Overall my feeling is that SIIB IB is likely to be a better option

      • Sir, Had blocked SCMHRD IM seat. (SCMHRD IM placements happen differently but since this batch, some have got chance with general MBA too.Hope this continues)
        Now, converted SIIB IB too.
        MH CET 93 marks 85 % HU
        No other calls.
working in a Construction company with not so good package.
When i ask for review form seniors, they have that professional tone. which i feel unsatisfactory.
What should be the better option?

  60. I got 97.74%ile in SNAP, attended the PI/WAT for SIBM-P(applied for that only). PI was satisfying for both, panelists and me, whereas WAT was ok.
Can I expect to convert this call?? I have a work-ex of 3.5 yrs.

    • Ankit, since you have a low overall percentile so a good PI+WAT is required for a convert, a good PI and an average WAT puts you on the edge. Let us hope for the best.

  61. Sir,

I’ ve got 56 percentile as composite score in snaptest and I belong to the defence category.I gave PI-WAT for SIMS and all went good .

What has been the lowest percentile at which calls have been converted in the past year?

Sir, I am asking this because my composite percentile is 56.

    Please do reply.

    • Akshay, past data is not relevant since this year the pattern has changed. With a good PI+WAT you should be hopeful of a final convert.

  62. hello sir, i have a offer letter from tcs and got calls from scit, sicsr and simc-p…should i go for the mba or try again nxt year(2014)…

  63. Actually I got confused since My Ideal teacher, Sir Neeraj Prasad had a quick chat with me in one of the webinars two months back and he told me to join SIIB if I get through but since that was a quick chat and that too a distant one I wasn’t sure since so many people have advised me to continue wit job and either do executive even if PGDM doesn’t happen since I’m planning to focus more on the company…. So GP advise the same.. For reference my profile is :
    10th- 91%
    12-92%
    HBTI B.Tech(Hons.)
6 lpa (Product Company Mahindra Comviva)
    and other extra curricular skills….

  64. My composite %ile is 42, SNAP Score %ile is 35 and Academic Profile Score %ile is 62. I have 5+ yrs of work ex in projects n power sector and I belong to ST category. My PI-WAT went bit more than ok. What are my chances in getting into SIOM? Plz reply

  65. Dear Sir,

I’m an ex student of CL at Kanpur. I’m from HBTI, Kanpur and earning about 6lpa already with good grades and past percentages. But the problem is that I got call only from SIIB Pune and I’m 100% sure that is going to be converted since i have 95% and everything went well. But should I join that college, i’m very doubtful since my salary would be already same as the avg package offered there. Also it would be 2 year investment along with whopping 11 lakhs as fees. It’s scaring me please let me know what to do?

    Best Regards

      • Thanks Sir….. Just one more confirmation… can executive MBA be an option in one -two years? Since I can’t find time to study now and without practice you can’t score in the written…. How to get into executive MBA courses in elite institutes?

  66. Hi Sir,
I got 97.74%ile in SNAP+Acads and had appeared for PI+WAT for only SIBM-P. PI was good enough and WAT was ok. Do I stand any chance of converting the SIBM-P call?? As the weightage of PI+WAT is 50% thus kind of nervous could SNAP score play spoilsport.
    Regards,
    Ankit

  67. Hey my pi-wat was on 15th afternoon, my composite percentile is 79, my interview was fine, but the last part was not so gud, they had asked where wud i settle after i retire, i said delhi as my father was an ex-army officer so i can avail of the facilites like canteen and club etc…..they again asked when i retire then,i again sort of answered the same(what i didn’t knw was i cnt avail of those service later),so one of the ladies said u maybe little nervous dear, but when u retire then,i lastly answered gurgaon bcz my frnz wud be there…….and this way the pi ended….pls tell me what are my chances for getting shortlisted for sims,as hte rest of the pi-wat was fine……

    • Neha, a single incorrect/nervous answer does not lead to rejection. Since rest of the interview was fine I would be hopeful of your chances of selection.

  68. Hi sir,

    I’m from SC category.
My SNAP composite percentile is 56 and after calculating, I found that my SNAP score is 19.77 / 50.
I got shortlisted for SITM Pune and my pi-wat was better than expected. The 3 professors semmed enthusiastic about my hobbies and not a single technical question was asked ( I’m pursuing B.E. 8th sem. presently in Nagpur).
Is there a chance of me getting selected for admission to SITM?

  69. Sir I am hopeful of converting IMT G call. But I have only 64.5% in BTech,Will it be a problem during placement process in IMT G.Does Companies which come for placements look at the previous academic record.

    • Ramesh, placement after MBA is a function of your performance in the program and your past academics do not usually play any role in this.

  70. Sir,

I’ ve got 56 percentile as composite score in snaptest and I belong to the defense category.I’ve got a call from SIMS and PI-WAT was good too.

As ive got low composite percentile do I still have realistic chances of converting the call ?

    Sir please do reply.

  71. is SITM worth joining? i have got letter from cognizant company,so shud i go 4 SITM or cognizant? I have done my b.e in ECE..plzzz helppp!!!

    • Purvi, my suggestion is to go for a retake. Hopefully you will be ableto increase your SNAP score in the next attempt and make it to the top SNAP institutes.

        • Purvi, unless you have to do an MBA this year you should not join SITM as it is not a great option. Cognizant is a good option and If you can increase your SNAP score to over 97%ile then calls then top SNAP institutes are possible for you. Similarly a score of 95%ile in CAT/XAT will lead you to good institutes.

  72. Sir,
I am a dentist with 6 yrs of work experience. I wish to pursue a career in healthcare management.
    CAT Score : 87.37%ile
I have got GD/PI call from SIHS.
    Kindly suggest which of these is a better college to pursue healthcare management in terms of academics and placement packages and what are the average packages offered ;
    1.) TAPMI (Manipal)
    2.) SIHS (Pune)
    3.) IHMR (Jaipur)

    • Neysa, since you want to pursue healthcare management, TAPMI should be the option you should be looking for. It has a decent academic course as well as decent placement figures. SIHS and IHMR are average colleges in terms of placements.

    • chirag, the Bangalore campus is relatively new. Considering the reputation of SIBM-Pune, it can be given a thought in absence of other options. Right now your focus should be on converting every call you have. The question of joining which one will come later.

      • Chirag, you have a good chance of making it to the final list, the wait list will however clear only after the results of other IIMs, FMS, NITIE and IITs are declared.

  73. I had applied for SIBMP, SCMHRD, SIBMB, SIOM and SCMHRD(IM). I got shortlisted for SCMHRD (IM) and SIOM with 90.3901. Will I be called again if SIBMB, SIBMP, SCMHRD seats are not filled ? Is there any provision for second list?

  74. sir
composite score of 72.2 got calls from simc and scit I m btech 2011 passout no exp what r the chances of my selection and how are these colleges

  75. GP Sir
My comprehensive SNAP percentile is 47 under general category and got call for energy management in SIMC Bangalore and Energy management in SIIB.

what are my chances as I dont have work experience and how good are these programs

    • Ricky, SIIB Energy Management can be considered a it is from SIIB and its placements are a bit lower but similar to that of the other programs. SIMC Bangalore is avoidable.

  76. Hi Sir,
I got an overall percentile of 91.45 in SNAP,among 5 colleges I applied(SIBMP,SCMHRD,SIIB,SIBMB and SCIT) I got call only from SCIT.
I have a XAT percentile of 88.11(quants:45 percentile).
I have 85%(appx) marks through out my academics(10th,12th and graduation).I also have a work experience of 2.5 yrs in Infosys.
Is MBA from SCIT an justified option for me?

    Thanks

  77. Hello Sir,

Ive got calls from SIMS and SICSR.
Im currently working in a software company with 1.5 years of experience and a CTC of 3.5 LPA. Would you suggest me to join these colleges? If yes, which one of the two would be a better option in terms of placements and salary?

    Thank you

    • Sundar, as you have a decent work profile, it would be advisable for you to look for some better colleges through CAT/XAT. You can also write MBA-MH-CET.

  78. Sir please suggest which B-School is better NMIMS, Mumbai vs SIBP, Pune for an MBA in marketing (better median salary). I used to think that both are equal however, now I am confused about SIBM Pune (cause of chatter of existing management quota).
    Work Exp: 16 months.
    Thanks

    • VJ, while NM Mumbai and SIBM Pune are at par based on your criteria I would recommend. However your focus at present should be to convert both the calls.

      • Dear GP Sir,
what is your say on the above mentioned management quota?,do that really exist in symbiosis selection process which if true is so unfair…

  79. Hi GP Sir,

I have secured calls from sibm-p and scmhrd, siib and sibm-b and my cat score is not upto the mark..currently working in an software company exp:14 months pckg 3.1lpa..not expecting any further calls..my question is if somehow I am not able to convert sibm-p and scmhrd..will it be a safe bet to join siib or sibm-b,if i am able to convert them or write exams next year??

    • Gaurav, try your best at converting both of the calls that you have received. The question of taking CAT again should come in your mind only after the final results. Right now give your best at GD/PI.

  80. Hi Sir,

I have got calls from SIMS and SITM.
    Category : General
Profile : 2.3 years of Work Ex in Infosys
    Academic profile : 87(10th), 90(12th), 8.18(CGPA: B.Tech-ECE)
    CAT was unexpectedly bad 🙁

My query , considering my profile , should I be going for these colleges(if I can convert) , or should I retake MBA entrance?

How do u rank SIMS , I see it has a good rank(in top 40) but not much idea ? and also they have this industry sponsored criteria which is a bit confusing , can u please throw some light on this?

I have an offer to switch company, should I take up that or MBA?

Sorry for too many queries, but please guide.

    Thanks in advance

    • Soumyajit, if your profile is good you might think of writing CAT again. The colleges where you have calls from are average.

  81. Sir please suggest which B-School is better NMIMS, Mumbai vs SIBP, Pune for an MBA in marketing (better median salary). I used to think that both are equal however, now I am confused about SIBM Pune (cause of existing management quota). 4
    Work Exp: 16 months.
    Thanks

  82. Hello Sir,
Is the level of competition in cmat very high? Is scoring well in cmat very practically difficult considering I am an average student.
    Kindly advise.

  83. Sir,

I’ve got a call from SIMS(defence). There are 240 seats for defence open category.

    My questions:

1)How many students do they call for the PI-WAT?
    2)What is the Conversion Rate?
    3)Average placement?

  84. Hello GP Sir,
I belong to the KM category.
    I have a composite percentile of 86.4%le
Got calls from these institutes :
    1) MBA – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY – SICSR
    2) MBA – INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT – SCMHRD
    3) MBA – INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS – SIIB
    4) MBA – SCMHRD
    5) MBA – SIBM Pune

Sir my query is that ‘how many KM candidates do they call for WAT/PI stage in SIBM-P’ ?
Cut-off of KM category was 80%le this time in SIBM-P.

    • Anshu, focus on converting the calls. The ratio of calls, the number of candidates etc will only divert your attention. You have good calls, focus on doing well in the interview and you will make it to your desired institutes.

  85. sir,
my comp percentile is 81.14.no work exp.i hav apllied to siom but couldnt get call, what may be the reason??
also i got calls for ssbf and siib(e&e).how are these colleges rated?
    cat %ile -78.6
    xat expecting around 80%ile.
what should i do ,pls help me out?

    • Sandeep, through SNAP you will be getting below average colleges only. Hope for calls from IMT-Nagpur, IMT-Hyderabad and ITM at your CAT score.

  86. Dear GP Sir,
MY snap composite percentile is 97.3345 , I got calls from scmhrd, scmhrd IM ,SIBM BANGLR,SIIB

1)what are the prospects for SCMHRD-IM ?? What is the average package ?

2)How many candidates have taken the snap test?Just to predict the number of scmhrd aspirants appearing for wat/pi?

  87. Hi GP Sir,

    Got a call from SITM.

I hav 2 yrs of workex with TCS.
    current CTC is 4.0

    In Nmat score is 209

Is it worth going in SITM or should try and prefer NMIMS bangalore.

    PLZ RPLY????

    • Somnath, NM call is likely hence you should go for the SITM interview as it will be your back up and more importantly be a good practice interview before NM. The decision to join or not should be taken after you convert the call. My order of preference is NM Mumbai, NM Blr, NM Hyd=SITM

      • Dear GP Sir
I got 52 percentile in Cat which college should I apply? Please advice…
I also got shortlisted in SNAP- SIOM, SSBF, SICSR. Is SSBF a good college as I am interested in it..
got shortlisted in ICFAI. Please suggest if icfai- hyderabad, mumbai and pune are good college or not.
I have a work experience of 2 yrs in Manufacturing and Retail. My pkg was 3.9 lac pa
        Awaiting for your precious reply..
        thank you

        • shayeri, at 52%ile in CAT calls are unlikely from any decent institute. With 2 year work experience and a package of Rs 3.9 lakh non of the SNAP colleges that you have got a call from are worth joining. My suggestion is that you should continue with your job and go for CAT’14. As a SC candidate, in SNAP/CAT you will need a score of 80%ile to get any decent institute.

  88. Hi,
    My composite percentile is 82.
I have got at PI call from SCIT and SICSR.
I am currently working with an package of 4.25.
Is it worth going for the course, considering the fees to be approx. 10L. Please help me out.

  89. Sir,
I’ve got a call from SIMC, bangalore (had not applied to SIMC, pune). I wanted to how the institute is, regarding the course and placements..

  90. Sir,
I have got calls from SIOM,SITM,SSCR . Is it worth joining these institues. Presently i am having 2.3 year of experience in IT with 4.05 ctc. Please guide.

  91. Hi,

My composite percentile is : 94.78
I have got calls from following colleges:

    1) SIIB
    2) SIOM
    3) SITM
    4) SCIT

In addition I am expecting 92-93 percentile in XAT. Calls about which I am hopeful through XAT include:

    1) IMT-G
    2) GIM
    3) TAPMI

I have 18 months work-ex in an IT company with engineering background.
Can you please tell me whether I should join any of the above mentioned college if converted based on my profile and ROI or should I wait for another year and try for better colleges as ROI will play an important role in my decision.

    • ATIN, wait for the official XAT results. You might just make the cut for IMT-G, GIM and TAPMI. Through SNAP, SIIB can be considered as a backup option. Writing CAT again or not will depend on the converts you make this year. It’s too early to think about that.

  92. GP sir,

I got shortisted for SIIB (E&E) and SITM….Got 2 years experience in IT….could you please tell me is it worth to do MBA from these colleges….Also do we have much long term scope for Energy and Environment sector ?….Also which one is better?….please advice…

    • Sajin, both of these are average colleges with SITM being slightly better than SIIB (E&E). Try for better colleges through CAT or XAT.

  93. Sir,

I’ve got call from SIMS (Defence). I want to know:

    1) Is it a good college. How would you rank it?

    2) I’m a fresher, i’ve got an offer letter from TCS.
Should I take up the job and try for a better college next year or take SIMS?

  94. Dear Sir ,

    I have call from
    SIBM-P

I want to know sir about slot booking.
what date will be best in NOIDA CENTRE
I am from gurgaon n CL -CP student

  95. Sir i got calls from following institutions…
    1) MBA – AGRI BUSINESS MANAGEMENT – SIIB
    2) MBA – COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT – SIMC Bengaluru
    3) MBA – COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT – SIMC Pune
    4) MBA – ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT – SIIB
    5) MBA – HOSPITAL AND HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT – SIHS
    6) MBA – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY – SICSR
    7) MBA – TELECOM MANAGEMENT – SITM
Which of the following is the best?

  96. As per your prediction, I have been shortlisted for SIBM Pune, please provide the information regarding the courses which are available for PI and WAT process…

    • Mani, you can check the details of the course on-line or tell us your location we can direct you to the concerned centre or person.

  97. Dear Sir,

Can you pls tell how the selection process for symbosis will be. as I have applied for 5 programms.
    1. SIBM -PUNE
    2.SIBM- BANGLORE
    3.SIIB
    4.SCIT
    5.SOIM

I got call PI-WAT call from only 1 programme SCIT. But I strongly feel chances of conversion will be very less.As those who got call from more than one colleges(because of their higher percentile) including SCIT, will be having more chances of converting in to it.
Can u tell is it right ?

    Thanks

    • Vicky, word hard for the next rounds. Every one who receives a call has a decent chance of converting it given that he prepares well.

  98. Sir,

I have got a composite percentile of 95.50 but have not been shortlisted for pi wat for scmhrd..i only applied for scmhrd n sibm..the other exams did not turn out good as well..i m interested in hr..and am awaiting the result for tiss now..a score of 70-75 is expected..could that convert into a call?..i am a general category candidate..also i would like to know what would be a better option for hrm tiss or xlri?

  99. Hi Sir,

I got a call from SITM. Is it a good college to join? Please also highlight about the two specialisation that they offer i.e. ‘System & Finance’ and ‘Marketing & Finance’. Which according to you is better? I’m an engineering graduate in Electronics & Communication with 74.64%.

    • Gourav, SITM is a good backup institute and can be considered. Choose the specialisaton that interests you and you have a likely-hood of doing well in.

  100. Sir,
I have read in facebook groups that many seats of SIBM-P is filled via management quota and hence it lacks overall quality of students getting admitted. Is it true?I have a composite score of 99.0152 %ile..I am having doubts regarding the reputation of SIBM-P amd SCMHRD.Please give me a good picture about these two institutes.Should i join these institutes if I convert?

  101. Hello Sir,
    My Composite Score is 81.774.
    SNAP-71.51
    Acad Pro- 99.99

I am B.E. graduate from Electronics and Communication branch.
    I applied for SIBM-P, SCMHRD,SICSR,SITM and SIOM.
What are the scopes and kindly highlight some facts about SITM,SIOM and SICSR..their average package and which one is worth going.?
    Thanks in advance.

  102. Dear Mr GP,

I am currently working, and will be completing my 3rd year at work this July 14′. I’ve taken 3 attempts at CAT, with my scores being 96.42%, 91.26% and 90.98%.

This year, I also have a 98.9433%ile in SNAP. I presently have a CTC of 5.7 LPA. I think I can expect a call from SIBM-P. Given the circumstances, do you think it would be OK to join SIBM-P if I convert it? Based on my findings, it comes within the top 20. Or do you think another attempt at CAT would be better, as by then I would have nearly 4 years of work ex, which some say might be detrimental to placements.

    Thanks!

    • Karthik,

Your score in SNAP is good. You most probably will get a call from SIBM-P. Last year it was 98.2%ile. Kindly get into SIBM-P, its a very good Institute.
Example: DPS Schools are treated as the BEST in the country but every successful person didn’t study from one of the DPSs.

If you perform well at SIBM-P, you may get a better prospect than being at one of the new IIMs at 90.98%ile.

      • Thanks for your reply. As far as my CAT goes, IIMs are ruled out as my section 2 score is 72.xx. Hence, right now, I am probably only looking at SIBM/SCMHRD, and, possibly, XAT (if it goes well).

Is SIBM-P on par with institutes like NMIMS Mumbai?

        Thanks again!

  103. Sir, i have a composite score of 83.1. what are my chances of getting calls from sibm-p, sibm-b, siom, siib-pune, schmrd under obc resevation

  104. Good Afternoon Sir
Sir I have a query regarding SIBM-B and SIIB. Are they worth joining if selected ? Considering I have secured average CAT percentile. I have composite percentile 89.565.

    • Rohit, SIBM Blr and SIIB are good institutes and you should definitely consider joining them if you make it to the final list.

      • sir i have a composite score of 98.3 .will i get sibm pune .Is it worth joining sibm pune i have 16 months of work ex in telecom sector .My cat dint go well and i got only 86 percentile. Is it worth giving another shot my prev cat percentiles : 98,96 .

        • Karthik, try your best to convert SIBM-Pune. It will be worth joining. However if you wish the premiere institutes like the IIMs, FMS, NITIE etc you can write CAT again.

  105. Sir,
I have scored 70 percentile in SNAP and I am also interested in the SRCC GBO program and want to know a few details about it, could you please tell me how is it???what is the avg package offerred (an approx figure), and in your opinion should i go for a SNAP institute or SRCC? or give CMAT in feb?? and if i give Cmat in feb then which is the best college accepting CMAT FEB score??

    • Nikita, SRCC GBO is a decent back up value for money option with very low fee and an average salary of Rs 5.5 lakh pa. With 70%ile in SNAP, only the lower end institutes would have shortlisted you and SRCC GBO would be a better choice. Based on Feb CMAT the best available college would be KJ Somaiya and if you can get over 99%ile then JBIMS is also possible.

  106. Good Afternoon Sir
Sir I have a query regarding SIBM-B and SIIB. Are they worth joining if selected ? Considering I have secured average CAT percentile.

  107. Gp Sir!!
I have scored 88.17 percentile in Cat and 68 percentile (composite) in SNAP, Which colleges do u think i should go for?? I am fine with doing MBA in any field provided the institute and package offerred is good…Please suggest the best option because in my SIS CAT B SCHOOL ADVISORY SECTION,the list of B schools is given according to 80-85 percentile,so i would want to know a better option according to my accurate percentile.
    Thanku so much!

  108. Hi sir,
my composite score is 81.14…will I get a call from scmhrd and siib and should I join siib if am able to convert it..considering I have an experience of one year and seven months…am a kashmiri migrant…

  109. Hello Sir,

My SNAP composite score is 94.9% and i have filled the forms of the following colleges:

    1. SIBM-P
    2. SCMHRD
    3. SIBM-B
    4. SIIB
    5. SIOM

As per the last year’s cut-off, calls from SIBM-B, SIIB & SIOM are likely. I have 3.5 years of IT work experience in a reputed MNC and i earn close to 5 lpa. Do you think it’s worth joining any of the above mentioned institutes?

    • Raj, given your status these institutes are not recommended but you can consider SIIB as a backup option. Hopefully CAT results tomorrow will give you better options.

      • Thanks for your reply sir. I have scored 96.52 percentile in cat(QA/DI – 89.80 & VA/LR – 97.52).
I have applied to the following colleges:
        1) MDI Gurgaon(all 3 courses)
        2) IMI Delhi(all courses)
        3) IMT Ghaziabad
        4) MFC
        5) MBE
        6) XIMB(through CAT & XAT)
Which colleges can i expect calls from at this percentile? Also, given my profile, which colleges should i consider? Can i expect calls from the newer IIMs and any of the older IIMs(i.e I,K or L)?
Looking forward to your guidance at this stage.
P.S I must say that the CL Percentile predictor was very accurate. It had predicted 97.23%ile and i got 96.52%ile. would have been happier had the deviation been on the other side. Nevertheless, hats off to you and the entire CL team for coming up with such an initiative. 🙂

  110. sir,
my snap composite percentile score is 37.0149%

  112. Hi Sir,
I have a composite score of 81.16 percentile. Am a kashmiri migrant having an experience of 1 year and 7 months…Will i get a call from SCMHRD and SIIB and should i join SIIB if i get a call from it…

    • Rahul, for SCMHRD you might be on the borderline and bright chances for getting a call from SIIB. Chances of conversion depends upon your performance in subsequent rounds. All the best.

  113. Hi GP Sir,
    My Composite Snap percentile =61.3295
    I belong to Gen category.
I had applied to SIIB(E&E),SIOM,SITM,SCIT and SSBF
Do I stand a chance to get call for PI-WAT in any of these institutes.

I have 20 months experience in an IT MNC?Will this help me to ensure a seat in scit or siib?

    Thanks in advance.

    • Ajay, you can expect calls from SIIB – MBA (E&E) and SCIT – MBA (ITBM). Your work experience will be helpful in the interview.

  114. Sir,
I have got 99.81 in the exam and 99.65 composite. My AP is 79.xx.
While entering the form, i had not yet received my graduation marks and had entered a best estimate of 65.3%. However, i finally received 63%. So i must have ended up getting 2*2.5 instead of 1*2.5 in the AP. I am pretty sure that this would have been the difference between getting a SIBM call and not.
So should i inform the authorities immediately or wait for the interview? SIBM pune is the only college i am looking at through SNAP.

  115. sir my composite percentile is 97. I made mistake in entering my engineering percentage ,75 in place of 78. plz tell me consequences.

    please reply. Thanks.

i have defence quota. will i be getting a call from sims?

  117. Sir, my composite percentile is 47.5. Can I expect calls from from SIMS (defence category) and SIMC Bangalore?
    thank you

  118. The graduation score is calculated based on all the 3 years. Isn’t this a lot subjective, considering how individual colleges grade students; some follow (pretty) leniency while some follow strict procedures? In case of some colleges, their percentages tend to be lower than other colleges at similar level. This would in turn distort scores; by as much as 15 percentile, I guess. Worse students at 58-59% in grads (a mere loss of 1-2%) and loss of 2.5 points would be real distorting.

  119. Hi GP,

How many candidates took snap this year??

I got the scores as following-
PERCENTILE OF COMPOSITE SCORE – 97.3455
Percentile of SNAP Score – 98.0688
Percentile of Academic Profile Score – 79.9261
My AP Score is 8.33/10 ,I ddnt expect my AP percentile to be as low as 79.
CAN I EXPECT A CALL FROM SIBM PUNE CONSIDERING LOW TEST TAKERS COMPARED TO LAST YEAR AND INCLUSION OF AP IN SELECTION PROCESS??

    • Raghu, the number of candidates has not been declared but my estimate is that it is the same as last year. So unless SIBM decides to increase the number of candidates to be shortlisted, a call is unlikely for you from SIBM Pune. SCMHRD is however on.

  123. Hello Sir,

    PERCENTILE OF COMPOSITE SCORE 69.6
    Percentile of SNAP Score 78.5463
Do I stand any chance of getting calls from

  126. Now we have our composite scores..colleges will count these out of 50. The other 50 will come from the WAT-PI process. So will the colleges have a cutoff out of 100 or will the colleges see this score out of 50 and decide if we are eligible for sitting in the common WAT-PI or not??

    • Greesh, calls to the common WAT-PI will be based on the current score out of 50. Final selection will be made on the score out of 100.

  127. Sir!! I have got a COMPOSITE SCORE = 51.27%ile
    SNAP Score – 45.XX

Are there any chances of an SCMHRD Call?
Also, is SIIB at par with SCMHRD?
    Thank you,
    Sowmya

    • Sowmya, SCMHRD is better than SIIM. 96.009%ile might be a borderline case for SCMHRD, based on last year’s cutoffs.

  139. Sir, according to my SNAP percentile I’m getting a call from SIMS(defence background).

I’m a fresher. I would like to ask if it’s worth joining SIMS because I have an offer letter for joining TCS.

Please advice me what I should do. Should i join SIMS or take up the job and prepare better next time.

    • Josh, These are good options (TCS & SIMS) but let us wait for your CAT/XAT results before deciding on the course of action,

  140. Sir, according to my SNAP percentile I’m getting a call from SIMS(defence background).

I’m a fresher. I would like to ask if it’s worth joining SIMS because I have an offer letter for joining TCS.

    Does SIMS has good placements?

  143. Hi,

My SNAP percentile of composite score is 31.8/50. Will this score be sufficient to seek admission to SIMC Pune?

    Thanks,

    Suman

    • Dear Suman,

As SNAP Score card reflects Composite percentile not composite score, if 31.8 is your composite percentile, then this percentile is not sufficient to fetch a call form SIMC, Pune. All the best for future.

      • Sir, the score card issued by SNAP is out of 50 right? My score card shows PERCENTILE OF COMPOSITE SCORE 31.8202
        ON CL
        I’m confused now, kindly reply

  144. Hi Sir,

    • Dear Abhishek,

As per the last year cut-offs, you have little chances of getting a call from SIMS. You might be on the verge. Chances of conversion depend on your performance in the next round. All the best.

    1. SIBM – Pune
    2. SIIB – Pune
    3. SIBM – Bangalore

    • Dear Srinivas,

    SCIT
    SIOM
    SCMHRD

    • Kapil, under SC category, a call from SIBM Pune would be a tough with 62.3%ile. However, you should get calls for SCMHRD-IM, SIBM-B, SIOM and SCIT. Of the three institutes you mentioned, SIBM-B is best.

  150. Sir
I have a Composite Snap score of: 59.48
    Snap Score: 64.54

          • Prachi, 56.23 is the percentile score, it means 56.23% of the candidates have their acads score less than yours.

  152. hello gp sir,

from which colleges can I expect calls??

    • Kohima, a composite percentile of 83.3 should get you calls from SIIB-Energy, SCIT, SIOM. SIIB-IB would be a borderline case.

      • thank you sir…I got the call from scit and sib-energy only…are the courses good..i have done btech with 75% and I was placed in hcl with 3.25 ctc but it would be calling in starting week of march

        • Kohima, these are average colleges with average placements. Taking admission or not is completely your prerogative.

  153. Hello Sir

    My acads scores are
    10th – 81.06 %
    12th – 78 %
    Grads – 66.25 %

But my ‘Percentile of Academic Profile Score’ shows as only 23.1848. Is there something wrong?

My Percentile of SNAP Score is 99.9179 but the APS brought it down to 97.8816.

    Please guide!!!

    • Amit, As per the Scores that you have given, you have AP= 11/15 and 7.33/10. There must be something wrong while calculating you AP score 23.1848 %tile. Cross check you scores with form. All the best.

  154. sir but the above data is telling cut off to be 27.60 for siib 29.29 n all n my composite percentile score is 31.34 n you even said the data is based on composite percentile scores.

I belong to the Kashmiri Migrant Category

    My SNAP score : 95.5 %le
    My Accad score : 40 %Le
    Composite score : 86.5%le

Can i expect calls from SIBM-P , SCMHRD etc ?
Because i found out that last year the cut-off for KM in SIBM-P went at 85%le and 78%le in SCMHRD and the year before that was lower.

    Awaiting reply .

    • Rohan, SCMHRD is likely but SIBM Pune is on the edge. Last year the KM cutoff for SIBM Pune was 88.4%ile and for SCMHRD it was 82.6%ile. Calls from all other SNAP institutes are likely.

      • Thanks a lot for the reply sir.
Any idea on how many candidates they call for interview via KM category in SIBM-P sir ?
As it has only 2 seats so do they call 7×2 = 14 students sir ?
Please do revert back to this.

    SNAP Composite %ile Score: 79.3927

    • Srikanth, at your score calls are possible only from SCIT – MBA (ITBM) and SICSR – MBA (IT).
Given your profile it may not be worth your while to join these two institutes however do go for the interview as it will give you good practice for your other interviews.

  161. Sir, my composite score is 94.6603 percentile. I have applied for the following colleges:
    1)SIBM-Pune
    2)SCMHRD..(Did not apply for IM)

Also sir, Is the composite score only going to be counted for admissions this year? or they will be currently considering only SNAP percentiles and then the AP percentile?

    Thanks!

    • Swati, they will be considering the composite percentile for shortlisting. SIBM and SCMHRD wouldn’t be possible at that percentile, but all other colleges are likely.

  162. Sir my composite score is 73.1142 … I have no work experience… Can I expect a call from SIOM Nasik ??? If yes when are they going to call me ?? 16 th Jan ??

    • Aishwarya, unfortunately at 92.33%ile you are unlikely to get a call from SIBM Pune and SCMHRD.
We will be analysing the sectional percentiles later but this appear to be okay.

        PLEASE REPLY SIR..

    • Nitin, for an SC category student, SCMHRD-MBA wouldn’t be possible. For SIBM-P, it’s a borderline case, considering last year’s cutoffs. For all the rest, a call is likely, including SCMHRD-MBA(IM).

    English – 85 percentile
    gk – 85
    maths – 77
    Lr – 40
According to CL score calculator (e-omr score) my score in LR is around 30,so my question is – does a score in LR of around 30 amounts to just 40 percentile or has there been a mistake by the SNAP authorties in calculating my score??
    EAGERLY AWAITING REPLY!!

      • Thanks!
Also, Could you please tell me where can i convert my percentile into scores, since i saw a link by the CL Team that says “convert your percentile into score”, but i havent been able to find such a score calculator..apart from the e-omr sheet (on snap exam corner) that we filled many days ago.

        • Sanchita, that was for SNAP’12 and to avoid further confusion I have changed the title of this post. Apologise for the confusion.

  189. Sir,my snap percentile is 98.08,is there any chance for sibm-pune?

  193. Hello GP Sir,
A composite score of 90.39 percentile. I guess SIBM (Pune) and SCMHRD are out of reach.
    (SNAP: 83.33%ile
    AP: 99.97%ile)

    Work Ex: 25 months

Is it possible to get into SCMHRD IM with this percentile, also do we had to register separately for this course?

Is it a good bet and Return On Investment in SIBM (Bangalore) and SIIB? Do they have 100% placement Guarantee?

    Please reply at the earliest.

    Thanks.

  194. Sir, my SNAP score is:

Please guide me with the colleges I should look after for getting admission…
    thanx

    • Ravi, OMS candidates have only 15% seats and you will need over 98%ile to get into any decent college. Suggest that you take MAT again in Feb to improve your score.

  196. Hello Sir.
I got 71.1 as composite score and i belong to sc category..
Any chances of getting SIBM-P or SCMHRD calls ??

    • Rony, as per the data of last year’s cut-offs you have good chances of getting a call from SIBM-Pune. However, chances are bleak for SCMHRD. Just wait for the actual calls.

  201. Hi,

I have got SNAP percentile of 95.2 and composite percentile of 91.5.
Will I get a call from SIIB and SIBM-B? How are these colleges in terms of placements, cosidering I have 18 months of work-ex, would these colleges be a safe bet?

Also, my percentile in VA section is 52%. Will it hamper my chances during PI? Do they give importance to sectional scores?

    • Ashish, you have good chances of getting both of these calls. Both the colleges are above average in terms of placements. Your can make up for the low score in VA by performing exceeding well in the PI.

  202. Hello Sir!Hope you are doing fine..!

    Please reply.

    • Rohan, the OA cutoff for SIBM in KM category last year was around 88% but the cutoffs in this category fluctuate a lot, so keep your fingers crossed.

  207. A very happy new year sir! My snap composite percentile is 91.2262.Is there any hope for SIBM Bangalore or SIIB Pune?

    • Happy New Year Chitrangada! As per the data of last year cut-offs you have bright chances for both of these calls.

  208. Dear sir,
    My composite is : 88.76
    Acad:79
    Snap:92

I have applied only to sibm p and scmhrd.. any chances for scmhrd ?

    • Jatin, cut-off for SIBM(Bengaluru) is most likely to hover around 90+. However for SIIB it might be a borderline case for you. Good luck.

      • Thanks sir, one more question off-track… How is FMS BHU in terms of placement and future scope.

I currently have 2.5 years exp in IT telecom domain and a package arnd 4.4 LPA.

  209. Sir,

Between SIBM-B and SIIB,which one to choose if given an option.please suggest.

    My SNAP composite is 93.2(Gen)

  210. Hello GP Sir,

I am an IT engineer with 4.2Lakh package and 26 months exp.

I have got 81.4%ile marks in SNAP 2013. Could you please suggest what all colleges are likely for me.
Also please suggest ,if SIOM Nasik is worth joining(if possible). What is its average salary sir?

    Thanks a Lottt Sir.!! 🙂

    • Himanshu, at this score it’s unlikely that you will get a call from the colleges you should be aiming for. SIOM wouldn’t be a good choice considering your current profile.

  215. Hi G.P Sir,

    I have got 85.0299 %tile in SNAP.I have 2 yrs of experience

Is there any chance to get a call from SIIB?

      • Hi,

        Thanks for your reply.

Based upon my experience and also my current package(4.0 lpa) would it be viable to think of SITM or SIOM?

        • Somnath, SITM and SIOM will have an average salary of Rs 5.5-6 lakh pa and may not make sense for you. However do go through the process if you get a call. It will be good experience for you.

  216. Gp Sir , My Composite score is 66.5025…is there a chance of getting calls from any of the Snap colleges?

  220. hi sir, my percentile of snap score is 21.8 and my percentile of composite score is 8.12. what does this score mean? which colleges can i apply? general, 3+ yrs work exp.

    • Phanindar, Composite percentile is the score on which cut-offs will be based. Don’t expect any call at that score.

I have applied to SIBM(P), SCMHRD, SIBM(B), SIIB, SIOM.
Can I expect a call from any of the above colleges for PI-WAT ?

    • Debraj, at a composite score of 76%ile you can expect calls from:
SITM – MBA (TM) – on the edge
      SIOM, Nasik – MBA (OM)
      SIIB – MBA (E&E)
      SSBM – MBA (BM)

  227. Hi Sir,
Please can you tell me what will be the cutoff percentile for Kashmiri Migrant category for SCMHRD. What colleges as a KP should I expect at 75%ile?

    • Sonia, the cutoff for Kashmiri Migrant category for SCMHRD – MBA in 2012 was 82.63%, but the cutoff for SCMHRD – MBA(IM) was 63.49%. Other than that, you can also expect SIIB, SIBM – Bengaluru, SSBM, SIMC, SCIT SICSR and SIHS.

  228. Sir I have got a mail from SNAP with these percentiles given. No scores mentioned.Kindly tell me how good.

i got 58% in snap overall..belong to sc category….any chances from sibm pune..scmhrd ..scmhrd(IM) …sibm banglore and siib..
    pls reply

  230. Sir, A doubt regarding percentage to be filled for SNAP, in my College NIT, we get a cgpa and a percentage conversion formula , my cgpa is 7.44 and percentage stands as per my college policy to 69.4 % ..but snap says CGPA*10 ..thus for me it shud be 74.4 % ..I have entered 74.4% ..I wanted your advice if I have done the right thing here or shud I enter 69.4%..Thanks

  231. Hello GP Sir, I belong to SC category.. I will be scoring somewhere btwn 23.75-24.45 out of 50 in Snap…Do I Stand a chance in SIBM-P?

  232. Happy new year GP sir..!! I have some doubts for which I urgently need your advice..!! I scored 220(QA78 VA 72 LR 70) in NMAT and 28.67/50 in SNAP..!! I’ve applied for SIBM Pune and Bangalore, SCMHRD, SIIB(IB), SIMC(Communication Management) Pune, SITM(Telecom Mgt), and SSBF(B&F). I have 10 months workex in TCS..Now, I’m not sure as to which colleges from SNAP are good enough to give a thought upon..moreover, will I be getting a call from NMIMS-Mumbai?
Also, I tried enrolling for PDP Planned on careerlauncher.com but when I tried to select a centre, it shows only 5 centres available throughtout India..3 in Chennai and 2 in Chandigarh..I’m sure that’s a technical glitch..please have it rectified so as to enable us aspirants to enroll for the program..Thanks and waiting for your reply..eagerly.. 🙂

    • Kartik, Apologise for the delay.
Given your background you should consider only SIBM Pune, SCMHRD and SIIB among the SNAP institutes. You will be getting a call from NM Mumbai that will be your best option. SIIB is a backup for you.
Hope you have been able to enroll for PDP.

  233. Hello sir,
I am getting SNAP Score of 26.05 and I belong to general category. Can I apply to SIMS (I dont have any defence background). Are there any seats for general candidates in SIMS ?
And which other colleges can I expect? I have 2yrs+ experience.
    Please suggest!

    • Aditi, unfortunately is only for dependents of Defence personnel so you cannot apply. With 26 marks cals are possible from all SNAP insttutes except SIBM -P/B, SCMHRD and SIIB.
What kind of work experience do you have and what is your expected CAT score?

      • Sir, I am working as an assistant manager (Mktng) in telecom sector after finishing b.tech in ECE.
And I am expecting my cat score in early 80’s.

  234. Sir,
Firstly thanking you for your wonderful support for students like us 🙂
According to the CL Predictor, i’m have scored 103 in SNAP exam, acads – 6.67/10 (X-88.9, XII-89.8, Grad-62) and the overall score is of 29.67/40. Considering my graduation acads i had kept SIBM, SCMHRD out and there’re no regrets for that. All i want to know is that whether i can get calls from SSIB,SIBM-B comfortably or not ? and are SIOM,SITM are worth to join (i’m anyways interested)

    • Vamsi, It is 29.67/50 and not 29.67/40 ans with 29.67/50 a general category candidate calls are possible from all SNAP institutes except SIBM Pune and SCMHRD.
Please refer to the cutoff table that is given in this post above.

      • apologizes for the mistake sir
and are SIOM, SITM good for engineers ?
        regarding pedagogy and placements ?
        please reply sir

        Thanks in advance 🙂

  235. sir ..in my b school advisory in cl exam corner…it is showing that i will get call from SIOM n SIBM-B with he score of 15/50..plz tell me is it true or just an error????

  236. Sir,
given the option b/w SIBM Bengaluru & NMIMS Bengaluru, which one would you advice is a better collge. Also, please tell me about SIIB.
    Regards

  237. Wish you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2014 GP Sir!. Appreciate a lot for your efforts so far and I am now an Ardent follower of your blog.

Sir i have got 26.45/50 and as indicated by CL predictor SIOM and SCIT are the institutes i have in hand. I have 30 months of experiance in client based projetcs in TCS. I would like to take your advice on how beneficial would SCIT prove to me further enhancing my skill sets. I am aslo interested in SIOM and do let me know how would this option turn out.

Sir regarding XAT i would like to know if can maximise my attempt in Verbal and logocal ability (15-16) questions and for the rest like Decision making (14-16) and qants (12-13 I want to attempt less in qants comapritively this time as i feel i am much faster in Verbal abilty. In qants after solving a certain number of problems i get a little slower. So i would like to try this new stratergy. Will this help in XAT?

    Waiting for your precious advice.
    Thanks and Regards
    Nikhil

    • Nikhil, while SIOM and SCIT are decent institutes but these are not recommended for someone with 30 month work experience in TCS.
Regarding XAT, your strategy is fine provided it results in a score of 10-11 in QA section.

  238. snap pp 30.1
i don remem d answr of few qustns i hd attmtd so i marked dem as”atemtd right” in eOMR …so dey might b wrong or right m nt sure..like max 1..2 qustn in LR….2 qusstn in quant 2 in english…..so wat can i aspct xactly?

  239. Hi Sir,
I have score 33.97/50 according to CL predictor.
Also I have 30 months of experience till now.
Do you think it would be easy to convert the call??
    Please reply.

    • ARD, 33.97/50 is only half the story, the balance 50 marks are for the interview & WAT and a not so good performance could easily lead to a negative result. My suggestion is not tot take the personality assessment prcess lightly.

  240. snap pp 30.3…nc obc….
i don remem d answr of few qustns i hd attmtd so i marked dem as”atemtd right” in eOMR …so dey might b wrong or right m nt sure..like max 1..2 qustn in LR….2 qusstn in quant 2 in english…..so wat can i aspct xactly? n colleges???

    • Abhinav, SNAP does not have reservation for NC-OBC candidates so you will be considered along with the general category candidates. At 30.3, SIBM Pune and SCMHRD are unlikely but all other SNAP institutes are possible. This blog has been updated, please check the table to identify the SNAP colleges from where you can get a call.

    • Sathish, calls from almost all SNAP institutes are possible for a SC candidate at 24.73/50. Start PDP immediately to ensure that you are well prepared for the interviews. Contact your CL center for details.
This blog has been updated, please check the table to identify the SNAP colleges from where you can get a call.

      • Thank you sir for your reply 🙂
But can I expect it from top two SIBM pune and SCMHRD , did I missed them with some margin 🙁

        • Sathish, based on last year cutoffs you are on the edge for SIBM Pune and could miss the SCMHRD call by 1.5 – 2 marks. However this is the first year of SNAP+AP score and the cutoffs could be lover by 1-1.5 marks as compared to what has been estimated in this post.

  241. Sir ,

I got admission into Glakes Chennai . My question is all govt. notification and other job says PGDM/MBA ..Glakes offer PGDM ..so will i not be eligible for it ?? Do respond and clear my confusion . I have decent score to get into any PGDM course so if thats the case i might spend one year studying than regretting all my life . Thanks

    • Ravi, please check if the program is AICTE approved, if yes then it is fine. What are your other options and what score are your expecting in CAT/SNAP/NMAT?

      • Sir i meant PGPM . sorry for the error . and all govt. notification says PGDM/MBA degree (2 year degree)!!
Cat i am not sure and no hopes. SNAP score of 34.5 out of 50.. and nmat 212 ..cmat sept rank below 400 so GIM is an option as well… i have a work ex of 3.5 years IT.

        • Ravi, I don’t think that the PGPM (1 year program) is AICTE approved hence it will not fit in with your requirements. The 2 yr program is AICTE approved but the industry traction is more for the 1 year program.
With 34.5/50 in SNAP you are likely to get calls from all SNAP institutes and also 212 in NMAT will get you interview call from NM Mumbai. Since NM Mumbai, SIBM Pune and SCMHRD are all ranked higher you can consider dropping PGPM of GL Chennai.
With 3.5 yr experience you can also consider ISB Hyderabad if you have taken GMAT.

  242. Hello GP Sir,
I have got 11 out of 50 in SNAP CL prediction, i am interested in joining SCIT, having 3+ years of experience in IT domain, for my score it is impossible to get a call for PI-WAT?

    Thanks,
    DK

    • Aishik, SIIB – MBA (E&E) is possible but not the others. This blog has been updated, please check the table to identify the SNAP colleges from where you can get a call.

  243. Sir,
I am expecting around 80 percentile in CAT.. n 24/50 in snap.I want to know in your opinion which colleges should i go for ? The SNAP colleges? or the colleges accepting a cat score of 75-80 percentile?

    • Sanchita, a score of 75-80%ile in CAT is unlikely to provide any decent institute and with 24/50 in SNAP you will be better off with SNAP institutes. You can consider the following institutes:
SIIB – MBA (E&E), SSBM – MBA (BM), SIMC, Pune – MBA (CM), SCIT – MBA (ITBM), SIIB – MBA (AB) and SICSR – MBA (IT)

  244. Hi Sir,

I have 24 months of workex right now in TCS.

    Nmat score-209(all 3 colleges applied i.e mum,blor,hyd)
    Cmat sept-220
    Snap predicted -28.60(SIIB,SITM,SIOM satisfied)

How are nmims blor and hyd based upon my profile.
also how ud be above 3 symbi colleges for me.

also CAT predicted is 88%tile and applied for MIB delhi,LIBA,GIM.

XAT 2013 paper got 27 marks.

Shall I apply to TAPMI and Great Lakes.

Although pretty unstructured but request you to plzzzz rply….

    • Somnath, I was travelling and could not respond earlier. Apologise for the delay.
Hopefully you will get a call from NM Mumbai but even Bangalore should be considered. Hyderabad is a newest campus and I would like to wait for a couple of years before commenting on it.
Given your 2 year work experience, among the SNAP institutes SIIB is good, SITM acceptable but SIOM may not be worth joining.
You should apply to TAPMI, BIM Trichy, MICA and 1 year program of Great Lakes Chennai.
A score of 27 in XAT 2013 is not bad, 2-3 extra marks can get you a call from XLRI. Revise the past XAT papes and hopefully we will not have top worry about the other institutes.

  245. GP sir, i have got 26.33, when compared to top 4 colleges in SYMBIOSIS, is SIOM a good college to apply for finance? would you suggest that college or do you want to go beyond this.

    • Shanmukh, I was travelling and could not respond earlier. Apologise for the delay.
SIOM is not a good college to apply for finance. The top four SNAP institutes are unlikely and your best bet is SITM. This blog has been updated, please check the table to identify the SNAP colleges from where you can get a call.

  246. sir wat is the mark out of 50 for SIOM for SC…im getting somewhere around 15 out of 50…plz tell me that is there is outside chance to get call or there is big “NO” for me..want to know this only

    • Manoj, I was travelling and could not respond earlier. Apologise for the delay.
A SC candidate is unlikely to get a call from SIOM at 15/50. This blog has been updated, please check the table to identify the SNAP colleges from where you can get a call.

  247. Hello Sir,
my Snap score according to CL predictor is 26.26(Gen)/50.
    My b-tech (civil)-77.5
    10th-83
    12th-74
    Can i expect a call from SCMHRD-IM,SITM.
And also how good is SIOM.
    Waiting to your rply

    • Ashutosh, please check the SNAP B-School Advisory in CL Exam Corner for the colleges that can shortlist you for an interview. However SITM and SIOM are likely. SIOM is a decent back up institute.

  248. Hello Sir,

The %tile predictor puts my score at 30.75. With a buffer of one -two questions.

It shows i am eligible for SITM/SIOM/SIIB/SIBM-B.

I have almost 40 months exp in telecom, which of these colleges would you suggest and when should i start preparing for GD/PI ?

    Thanks !!
Sarthak – CL Weekend batch ’13

    • Sarthak, you can at best consider SIBM Blr and SIIB.
Start PDP classes immediately, contact your center for the details – dates and timing.

      • Thank you sir…

I am a bit doubtful on the %ile predictor as i may have entered wrong responses for 1 question in LR , 1 Qstn in English and 2 in Quant. How much will it bring down my score ? … Its currently at 30.47 and SCMHRD ( IM ) stands at 29.29. I don’t suppose i should expect a call from SCMHRD or SIBM Blr. Should i consider SITM or SIIB owing to my background in Telecom ?

        Thx !!

  249. GP sir i have got 26.33 out of 50 in snap CL prediction. i am interested in doing finance, for my score it is impossible to get a call SIBM, SIIB the good colleges in symboisis, please suggest me whether i have consider snap or ignore it. what are thegood colleges i am going to get for my snap scare?

    • Shanmukh, unfortunately at 26.33 the top 4 colleges are not possible and hence for MBA finance you will have to look beyond the SNAP institutes.

      • GP sir i am from general category not a domicile of maharastra, what are the best chances of getting into colleges like jbims through MHCET, through what way i will have best chances, is it through cmat or mhcet? thanking you sir

        • Shanmukh, I was travelling and could not respond earlier. Apologise for the delay.
CET is only for Maharashtra candidates, students outside Maharashtra have to apply on the basis of CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA score. Your best chance is through MAT.

          • GP sir my snap score is 26.33, i am looking for finance, is SIOM a good one to apply?, according to CL prediction i am likely to get a call from SIIB (ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT), SIIB is a good, do you advice me to apply SIIB FOR E&E, thanking you sir, happy new year

  250. Hi Sir. I am getting a score 28.7 as per CL Snap analysis. I want to ask about SCIT, SITM and SIOM. WIth more than 18 months of work-ex, should I take these colleges if I get them or should I prepare for one more year.

  251. Dear Sir,
As per SNAP precentile predictor I am getting 108.25/179, 24.2**/40 and 1.33/10. Total is 25.53/50. Can I expect cals from SIBM-P, SCMHRD, SIBM-B and SIIB. I belong from SC category.
    Thank You

    • Sushil, you should be able to get a call from all SNAP institutes except SCMHRD. Please start PDP immediately to ensure that you are well prepared for the interview.

      • Dear Sir, Thank You for the your valuable feedback. I would really appreciate if I can your e-mail. I need to discuss something over my candidature.

        • Dear Sir,
Such a big relief after seeing your post. Sir, with 25.53/50 can i safely expect a call from SIBM-P? Though the chances of +/- is always there. As per the analysis SCMHRD is ruled out for me.

  252. Sir this is with regard to XLRI Jamshedpur.. I have posted the confirmation page to them..that is what they have asked for on their website. But now many people are also sending their marksheets and DMCs along with it. Nobody is sure if these are to be sent or not. Please help. should i send everything again ??

  253. Sir

The predictor shows my score to be around 34 and my %ile to be around 98.5%. do I have a chance to get a call from SIBM Pune?

this %ile of 98.5 has been calculated from a limited set of students who put in their answers at the website. Do you think in actual case scenario, the %ile will increase?

    • Amh, with 34/50 you should get a call from all the SNAP institutes. Appropriate corrections have been made to reflect the population and I do not expect the percentiles to be significantly different for what have been predicted. However if that happens, it will be to your advantage.

      • Thank you sir.
I have applied only for SIBM, Pune. I believe I am on the MARGIN. So you imply, I should start my GD PI preparations positively. Any suggestion how to start?

I have a 2.5 year Work Exp in Construction major L&T. will that help in any way for converting the call in case I get a CALL?

        • Amh, I am reasonably hopeful of you getting a call from SIBM Pune and that you should start PDP immediately. Your work experience will be helpful in the interview.

  254. sir wat are the sectional cut offs for xat?? if i am aiming for xlri jam or ximb.. also if gk will be coming in section 1 this time..will it be considered in deciding the cut offs.. or is it just that the section has been changed but it will just b considered in the secnd round??

  255. sir i m getting 116-117 as per cl keys in snap test , my AP is 7.66/10 this adds up to 33.5- 33.95 , sir i have filled only sibm pune and i am not at all interested in any other snap college , i have some personal reasons for being there, am i eligible for sibm pune or am i just on the margin? should i have to start prparation for gd/pi or not? despite getting 117 if i wont clear then seriously i couldnt , ever.

    • Abhishek, you are on the edge but hopefully things will work out for you. 33.75 is our estimate but AP is still a googly and the actual cutoff could be lower. Also one does not know how they will treat the doubtful questions. While it is difficult but in your place I would have started the interview preparation.

  256. sir, my CL pointer showing 11 out of 40 n my academic is 4 out of 10 so total 15 .can i expect call from any institute. I’m from SC category.plz sir reply

  257. Dear Sir,

Thanks for your precious efforts. Sir A/C to CL I I am eligible for SIIB. I want to know that what kind of college is this. Is it worth to do MBA From this institute. Already I have been working for two years In SAP field. So Are the profiles offered in SIIB good management profiles or we have to compromise with the profiles. Please throw some light on it. In website we dont actually get the clear Idea except the placements. Sorry for being too lengthy but my main idea behind is to know about the profiles offered in SIIB.

    Thanks and regards,
    Pankaj Sharma

    • Pankaj, SIIB is a decent MBA institute and I would consider it as a back up option for someone with your experience. While the top 25% students are likely to get good work profiles the others may have to compromise. Its average salary is around R 7.5 lakh pa while the highest would be around 15 lakh pa.

      • Thanks for your precious reply Sir. One more thing I want to ask if the Placements in MBA depends on your Academic performance in MBA or is it same like we do in B.Tech. like even if we are at the lowest rank in the class and we have qualified the Aptitude/GD/PI , we will get selected in the company. Please throw some light on this.

        • Pankaj, I was travelling and could not respond earlier. Apologise for the delay.
Different companies behave differently, some look at your CGPA to shortlist and some go by the profile.

      • Thank you Sir.
can you please tell me wat is the cutoff for ubs under defence category. And if there is any good college for defence dependant other than these 2

  258. Sir, I got a score of 33.74 out of 40 in the predictor. But the cut-off for SIBM is 33.75. Is there any chance of making the cut?

    • Vignesh, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
What we have given is a estimate and the actual cutoff could be lower. Start PDP immediately to ensure that you are well prepared for the interviews. A good score in interview will be required to make it to the final list as you are on the borderline of cutoff.

  259. Sir,
I think I have marked a few answers wrongly in the snap % predictor,,is there any way i can rectify my mistake and get a correct estimate of my score…thanx..

  260. sir i m getting 27.63 and belongs to defence category..want to know about sims compared to SIIB,GIM, ximb .should i appear for next cat and snap or not??

    • Adarsh, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
My order of preference will be XIMB, GIM, SIIB and SIMS. The decision of retake should be taken after the results of all the tests are declared, foucs on XAT and let us discuss this in Feb’14.

  261. Hi sir,
First of all I want to thank you for such wonderful blogs you have been publishing on this website, son thank you..:-)
As per true percentile predictor, my cat percentiles cud b in the range between 95.66 & 89.66..I am a candidate with NC-Obc certificate..
    Academics 10th- 76, 12th- 78, b.tech- 76..fresher..
should I apply to nitie and fms du..??
    Also in snap
I am getting 22+8.33= 30.33 out of 50 as per the keys
How much chances are there for a call from sibm-p & scmhrd..??
Eagerly waiting for your reply sir..

    • Akshay, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
As a N-OBC candidate with a CAT score in the range of 90-96%ile you should apply to FMS, NITIE, MFC and IIT Mumbai/Delhi.
A score of 30.33/50 in SNAP is unlikely to get you a call from SIBM Pune or SCMHRD.

  262. GP sir, a lot of people can see their percentiles and cut-offs but I am not able to see anything in my scorecard. Please tell me what my percentile would be at total score of 31.50 out of 50.

  263. Sir in CL exam center my percentile is not visible……can u tell me what would be my percentile, my aggregate is 34.

      • I had applied for SIBMP, SCMHRD, SIIB, SIOM and SCMHRD(IM). I got shortlisted for SCMHRD (IM) and SIOM with 90.3901. Will I be called again if SIBMB, SIBMP, SCMHRD seats are not filled ? Is there any provision for second list?

        • Pakshaal, if you are not called for GD/PI by an institute, you wouldn’t be called by the same institute in the second list.

    • akm, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
SIBM Pune is possible but based on last year cutoffs SCMHRD may not be possible.

  264. Dear GP SIR,I have scored 28.33 out of 50 in snap predictor.I have also secured 203 in CMAT sept but my academics are not good x=72 bihar board,XII=58.33 (BIHAR BOARD),BTECH=76.00 WORK EXPERIENCE NOTHING ,NC OBC CANDIDATE .which college is the best suitable for me BY SALARY WISE? SIR ,I got a GD call from ITM navi mmbai without filling its application form.is this a good college (salary wise)? Thank u sir

    • Shubham, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
At 28.33/50 in SNAP SIIB should be possible but SIBM-P/Blr and SCMHRD are unlikely. The CMAT institutes do not have NC-OBC reservation, you best bet is likely to be through CAT as it has most of the institutes that have NC-OBC reservation.
ITM Navi Mumbai is a decent back up institute.

  265. Sir,
In SNAP test out of 179 I got 91.35 which is scaled down to 20.3/40.
But due to my AP 5/10 my total score is 25.3/50.
Can I expect a call from SIOM atleast ?
I have not applied for SITM, should I apply for it ?
    Need your guidance GP sir.

    • Saurabh, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
The SIOM and SITM cutoffs are likely to be slightly higher than your score of 25.3/50 but hopefully they will be lesser than our estimates. Please apply to both the institutes and let us hope for the best.

  266. Sir getting 30.2 in snap predictor out of 50. Having Sc reservation.
    X-82.7
    XII-78.3
    B.Tech-7.86
work ex- 16 months in TCS
Extra curricular: was an active member of curtural committee in college, founder of a magazine in school, champion in athletics in school level, won some prizes in drawing and acting in school level. what are my chances for SIBM and SCMHRD finance and marketing if i have decent gd pi? how to start with gd pi preperation?

    • sha499, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
You will get calls from all SNAP institutes and should start PDP immediately, please contact your center for the details.
The SNAP + AP score of 30.2 has a 50% weight in the final score and a poor performance in interview could nullify the 5 mark advantage that you are likely to have over other candidates shortlisted in your category.
I will be releasing a post on interviews shortly.

  267. Hello Sir,
Calculator is showing 60(24 out of 50) Percentile. I am having 3 years of exp in TCS. Would it be possible to get SIOM at least?
And also please share your views about SIOM keeping my profile in consideration.

    • Anurag, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
24/50 could be a bit less than the score required for SIOM. In any case I will not recommend SIOM to someone with 3 years work experience in TCS.

      • Thanks a lot Sir for your valuable inputs !! Not sure whether i will get a good college this year, or need to give one more year for preparation.Sir i will be having 4 years of work exp next year if i give one more chance for preparation.I am appearing in XAT so could you please suggest me some good colleges to apply in XAT and also the strategy for next year and target institutes (as 4 years of work exp) if luck does not favor me this time.

        • Anurag, let us discuss plan for next year after XAT results are declared. In addition to XLRI you can consider XIMB, GIM and Great Lakes Chennai (1 year program) through XAT.

  268. Sir, at a score of 30.95, any remote chance of SIBM-P, SCMHRD ? work ex of 2+ years and acads 10/10, snap score 20.95/40…

    • Rahul, I have been travelling and hence the delay. Apologise for the same.
Both the institutes are unlikely at your score but all others are possible. Focus on XAT, a 95%ile (score of over 30) can get you calls from the best XAT institutes.
